Mechanix Wear Performance Leather Glove $7.50 (+$8.95 Postage or Click&Collect) @ Masters

730

Hey Guys - Long time lurker, first time poster so I hope I get this one right.

I was looking at the Masters Clearance section today for some bargains to help along with the endless cycle of home renovation (thanks reality TV) that seems to be occurring at my place and I happened across this clearance deal. These gloves come in handy during demolition to help protect my soft, office-boy palms whilst I do some real manly work and pretend to be a tradie on the weekends.

Mechanix Wear Performance Leather Glove - Available in Medium/Large/X Large at time of posting

  • Genuine leather glove
  • High performance
  • Soft and comfortable
  • Padded palm

Large here: https://www.masters.com.au/product/900034641/mechanix-wear-p… - OUT OF STOCK

X Large here: https://www.masters.com.au/product/900034642/mechanix-wear-p…

Availability for click + collect might be variable (for QLD they had Parkinson, Tingalpa and Bundamba for various sizes), however they have a postage option if you can't get to a store.

I have used Mechanix gloves previously for PPE and they are, in my opinion, almost unbeatable for durability and wear. In saying this though, I haven't actually used these particular models before, however given this experience and the price, I'll put my money down.

Size chart for fitment available here: http://www.mechanix.com/faq/product

Enjoy!

While you're online, what's a good treatment for gout ???

@jv: Judging from your profile picture, curb your lifestyle of excess. That facial hair telegraphs your love of fine red wine and cured meats.

your love of fine red wine and cured meats.

Does that include Vinomofo wines and twiggy sticks ???

@jv: Al-lo-purinol once a day for life and keep your habits in place!

EDIT: Consult your medical practitioner for advice and scripts.

        • +1

@jv Alopurinol works but you need prescription and should not replace diet!
If you want to stay on the naturist (naturalist? natural?) side then gin or juniper berries tea and celery seeds tea will help.
Also there are some natural compressed extracts of juniper and celery seeds at any chemist (Nature's Own?).
Try to avoid protein rich foods.
in particular avoid mushrooms, spinach, port.
Cut down on beer and steak.

This info is from my own experience and is not supposed to replace your doctor's advice.

          Drink pineapple juice.

  • Are these the same ones Travis Cloke uses ?

  • Cheaper than Ebay and from a bricks and mortar store for pickup to avoid postage… not bad OP, not bad at all.

Plus vote for the rookie :).

    • and mortar store for pickup to avoid postage

no pickup for these at my store…

  • Good work. Just ordered one for pickup at rouse hill. Had to get a large (I'm mediumish but out of stock) but for the price it's all good!!

  • Is this one or two? Serious question.

    • Two. It's a pair.

      • Two. It's a pair.

Did you read the link ?

"Mechanix Wear Performance Leather Glove Medium"
        "Genuine leather glove"

Where does it say it is a pair of gloves?

  • +3

Ordered 2 pair - Upper Coomera, QLD pick-up:

I found their search a little lacking, but got best results with search term "Mechanix" only

  • +6

I always buy two pairs of work gloves, so I can always give someone else a hand if need be.

  • i bought a few pairs of these last week, thought it was a store only deal so didnt bother posting it up

  • +4

Thank god the performance is high. I hate medium or low performance gloves.

  • Thanks. Ordered 2 pairs. Right on time as I tore my old pair last week.

  • I bought two from Roxburgh Park (C&C Available) without even checking the size…whoops.

Also, I won't be using them on the car, but I assume they're fine for wood work.

  • Thanks OP, picked up a pair.

  • Can these be used for gardening and chainsawing?

    • Only if you have hands.

More seriously, I'm sure they would work well for both, but would probably get a little soiled if you're planting things, might want to use a cheaper pair for the more grubby jobs.

    • i assume you can use them for anything your hands can do… except tying shoelaces.
Don't expect much protection if you are touching the chainsaw blade though.

    • My question too - Has anybody thoughts on how the quality of these compare to, say, similarly priced IronClad gloves from Bunnings?

      http://www.bunnings.com.au/our-range/brands/i/ironclad

Obviously the price is terrific but I need to be able to count on the quality and durability.

      • At $7.50, it would be worthwhile getting a few.

      • I have Ironclads with holes in two finger tips after not much use. Wouldn't buy again.

      • Chalk and Cheese, surely. Ironclad are great gloves and worth the price IMO.

    • Cool ordered 2 of the padded ones for when i use power equipment.

  • Extra large out of stock.

    awesome.
joined up to masters - save 5%
used woolies card saved another 5%

  • Cheap Gym gloves

  • Seems to be out of stock in the 3 stores I checked (Braybrook, Northland, Hawthorn East)

  • damn nothing in my size (large according to the chart)

this is a damn good price! it is even cheaper then the "replicas" that are being sold on ebay……….

  • Better bundle buy them with some hand moisturizer

  • No stock anywhere for C&C. Shipping at $10 is a bit expensive.

  • do u get two gloves?

  • That's annoying, 1 type of glove out of stock but will ship. The other is in stock but won't ship.

  • Yet another screw up by masters. Just got a call that the gloves are not available despite the order going through. Told them to keep looking interstate but I have a feeling I'm going to end up with a refund. This is the 3rd time the same crap has happened with masters. Almost up there with DSE. Will give them a miss altogether from now on.
