St Stefanus Blonde Abbey Beer 750ml a Case of 6 Delivered - $50 @ Dan Murphy's BB End August

200

Please note: product best before date is end of August
Liquor Style: Ale Varietal: Craft Beer
Originating from Sint Stefanus, the Augustinian order in Ghent, St Stefanus Belgian Blonde is matured for a minimum of 3 months before cellar release, allowing the distinctive flavours of the beer to develop. The Blonde continues maturing in the bottle until opened, allowing you to choose how you want your beer to taste.

What's got me is the Alcohol Volume at 7.0% !!! drunker faster

Normally, I'd drink something like Schöfferhofer Hefeweizen, but since this is on special and they'll deliver it next business day I thought I'd give this a go. Reviews sounds promising.

Oh, don't forget cashback, cash rewards offers 3.5% for beers from Dan's

7% is actually on the lower end for a Belgian beer. May give this a while, thanks OK.
Edit: just dawned on me I'm currently sipping on my last Leffe blonde. It's a sign! Just like the Aldi scotch deal from yesterday where I was sipping on my last of the whisky bottle

    • Let us know how the beer is!
I generally would like to know if the Best Before date affects the taste.

      • Will do, some beers develop flavour over extra months. Depends how they been transported and stored as well. My order has been assigned tracking number so prob come after weekend.
Lol, just saw 2 typos in my first post, too many beers perhaps

Just proves how authentic your post is.

  • seems it can be cellared as expected - 87/100 @ BeerAdvocate (higher than $40 Sam Adams Boston Lager which incurs delivery charge) :)

    MOA Methode Pilsner still $50.90

btw St Stefanus aka Augustijn is distributed by SABMiller

sipping on a bottle right now and it's absolutely worth every penny, a special drop.
I think I would have cellared it for around the full 18 months anyway to achieve the more robust flavours, so Dan's has just done the hard work for me.

  • Ordered some without checking OZ but this is certainly worth it. Something I wouldn't drink all the time but totally worth it at this price.
