      I think it's a good bargain since MSY has them for 119(px match for $113) and cheapest 500GB without external enclosure for 2.5 size is at least 100 bucks.

    Can you scavenge the hdd from this enclosure and use it in other devices ie: ps3? Is it a sata drive or some type of inbuilt usb hybrid.

      It would be a sata drive. This is a 2.5" Hard Drive. It's not going to be IDE.
      What's a usb hybrid? A usb flash drive combined with a Hard Disk Drive? Is there such a product?

      I want to get one, but i need my money for xmas presents.
      Can you get this item transferred to another store in another state, so you don't have to pay $10 shipping?

        If this Samsung is anything like my seagate 2.5" external, the drive comes in screw-less (glued/moulded) case that would require you to physically crack it open to gain access to the drive. Would be a bit of a gamble.

            @Cheap Skate: Also, if you take the drive out of the enclosure, the warranty is void. Not worth it. You can buy 500gb internal drives for around the same price or cheaper i think.

        Yes you can get them transferred from the customer fullfilment centre to your local store for cash on pickup and no del charge
