  • 1 Year Warranty in Australia

    Should be 10 years.
    http://www.sandisk.com.au/products/memory-cards/microsd/ultr…

    Postage is $9.99 anywhere.

    • Should be 10 years.

1 year is what they offer, Sandisk offer 10 years direct.

      • By ACL the retailer must support the product for the extent of the manufacturer warranty as that's what they're also selling with the product.
In most cases they just send it off to the manufacturer after receiving the returns but you still have 2 options when returning. (eg. manufacturer is overseas)

The seller also must not refuse to deal with a customer about the returned good and tell them to deal with the manufacturer instead.

Some goods may fail to meet one or more of the consumer guarantees due to a manufacturing defect or issue that would otherwise be the manufacturers fault. The consumer can ask the seller to provide a remedy, and the seller is required by law to oblige.

Consumers are entitled to approach manufacturers directly for a remedy.

        • It's HK stock. It may not be bound by Australian Consumer Rights.

        • @Lukian:
This is still an Australian retailer we're dealing with so comes under ACL.

APAC: (Asia-Pacific includes: Australia & New Zealand)
          SanDisk Ultra microSDHC/microSDXC UHS-I Cards: 10×
× See product packaging; 10 year warranty period for products purchased after February 15, 2014.

If you're going to quote the ACL you could at least understand what you are quoting. Shopping Square are offering a one year warranty on this product during which time they will deal with the warranty claim. The manufacturer is offering a warranty of ten years. There is nothing wrong nor unusual about this and many of the discounted sellers do this like MSY.

They still have to deal with the manufacturer warranty regardless of what they state on their website. It's similar to what a lot of online retailer do with supposed 'savings' listed on their products. It's misleading but it still goes through as the ACCC probably doesn't have the resources to follow through on everyone.

          Misleading prices may include:
a ‘before’, ‘was’ or ‘strike through’ price that is not the price those items were sold for in a reasonable period immediately before the sale period started

          https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/prices-receipts/price-disp…

          Selling parallel imports:

You will be responsible for providing an appropriate remedy, not only as a supplier of the product but also potentially as the deemed manufacturer/distributor, placing additional responsibilities on you.

          https://www.accc.gov.au/business/treating-customers-fairly/s…

The grey imports may have reduced manufacturer warranty depending on where they got it from but in this case Sandisk offers 10 years.

When it comes time to actually processing a return they may try to kick up a fuss before you bring out the respective state Fair Trading offices or they'll cover it knowing they're bound by the ACL.

Umart is one shop that shows 1 year RTB warranty for everything. But when it comes time to fix something they'll process the return without complaints even if it's on the last year of the third year manufacturer warranty.

  • Has a 128GB micro SD ever been cheaper than this?

    Yup, at least twice:
    $77.60 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/200365
    $78 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/200055

I feel like Shopping Square or another merchant can do better than this. Especially without that pesky postage charge.

  • +1

If postage isn't optional it should be included in the price.
    This deal is $89.94.

  • Price back at $79.95 + postage again.
