    Price on title.

    • Thanks mate

  • Not really a bargain at this price. Also this model is about to be replaced soon.

    • And how much would that be?

      • +1

I think the question is, how much will the A6000 be when the new model is out? Good chance it'll push the price of this beauty down.

With our dollar diving through the floor and the incoming GST on OS purchases, I don't think it's the year for buying cameras

Doubt it will push it down by much. The new A6XXX or A7000 will be easily over 1k judging by the new RX100iv and RX10ii prices. Sony already have 3 AXXX cameras below the A6000 too so just can't see massive discounts. The AUD doesn't help either, I would love to be proven wrong though.

Well it just got pushed down by $100 with the cashback. I was right. Hope nobody bought it at OPs price and waited a few days.

That's only for the body though..

Not sure why you got neg'd, because you're right.

Still can't believe I purchased this for $600 with the 16-50 and 55-210 from HN

    • Me too! I should've also got the A7 for $899 on Boxing Day but I was travelling through Europe…I let the OzBargain in me down :(

    • When was that deal?

  • Until the new models come out, whenever that is, this stands as a good price for the kit.

People try to sell these for stupid prices.

There was a short period of time 6 months ago where they could be picked up for $600 new with the kit lens. After that, the prices new and second hand sky rocketed.

    Amazing cameras for the price

Should probably add the kit lens on the title too. It looks like body only, which would make it a bad deal.

    • edited thanks

anyway, can't believe i bought it for $597 with twin lens kit from HN during Boxing Day sale! (also included a $30 Sony voucher!)

    • That old HN sale makes me sad because I couldn't buy it as I was overseas and now I want it but there hasn't been an A6000ii to consider or to drop the prices

  • +3

Sony is starting a $100 cash back for the a6000 think from 1st…

    • Thanks for the head sup :P might make this an even better deal :D

      Now it's official.

Bonus Cash Back with selected Sony Alpha cameras and lenses*

Purchase a selected Sony Alpha camera or lens from an authorised Sony dealer between 1st August and 30th September 2015, and you will be eligible to receive a Bonus Cash Back of up to $300*.

      • I contacted HN, and they informed me they have not been contacted regarding the cashback. The guy said he'll get back to me tomorrow about it.

In addition, the Sony cashback offer has a slightly worrying clause:

To be eligible to claim, individuals must purchase (lay-by and duty- free purchases excluded) any Eligible Product (defined below) from a participating Sony Australia authorised dealer during the Purchase Period and the purchase must not have been made under any other offer or discount provided by a participating Sony Australia authorised dealer ("Qualifying Purchase"). Participating Sony Australia authorised dealers include, but are not limited to: JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Camera House, Ted's Cameras, Michaels, Diamonds, Digi Direct, Video Pro, Sony Centre, Sony Kiosk, Sony Store Online, Georges, Digital Camera Warehouse, Myer, Costco, Photo Continental, Camera Pro, Camera Electronic, Bing Lee, and The Good Guys. Claims from businesses or distributors are exempt from this promotion.

I wonder if the lame "free prints" count as "other offer"…

  • Hmm, there are no local stock in any of the SA stores… Do Harvey Norman generally order them in for you to buy in-store? I have a number of gift cards I wish to use, and they don't work online… (why do they do that??)
