Looks like another rounds of Sony CB has just arrived, I'd wait for other retailers to beat them first.

  • Any offer on RX10 II preorder ?

    • Doesn't seem like it.
The only one I didn't list was the RX100 M4 for $1,187 (No cash back or savings mentioned for this one)

  • Do they include A5100 in this cashback offer?

    • It didn't mention the A5100 in the email but per T&Cs it just says to see in-store for info on qualifying models.
Prices valid only at Sony Centre Nunawading from 1/8/15 until 30/9/15 or until stock is sold out. *Cash back via manufacturer redemption, see in-store for more information on qualifying models. Visit sony.com.au/alphacashback for full terms and conditions.

  • From Sony Cashback site: "Purchase a selected Sony Alpha camera or lens from an authorised Sony dealer between 1st August and 30th September 2015, and you will be eligible to receive a Bonus Cash Back of up to $300*."

So this should apply to purchases from any authorised dealer. Hoping for some good deals from other retailers..

Watch out that some stores have increased their prices.

Camera Electronic for example had the 70-200 f4 for $1298 which would have been $1098 after the cashback. Now they've put the price up to $1,588.00, which makes it $1,388.00 after cashback. It was actually cheaper before the Cashback.

Would cash back apply to body + kit lens , or just the body only option. Eg A6000.
    T&C says model ILCE6000
    Body only model ILCE6000B
Body + kit lens model ILCE60001650

    • I am curious on this as well.
According to digidirect, it appears the cashback applies to both the body only and body+kit lens.

      Hope someone can confirm this.

I bought a body + lens kit from leederville cameras and they mentioned on the product detail page that I will receive the cashback offer.

  • @ Digidirect, the price now is 55 1.8 948 aud, 35 2.8 548 aud after cash back.

@ Micheal is about ~600 aud for 35 2.8 and ~1050 for 55 (just checked in Micheal store)

Looks like a good time to buy. I wonder if they do the special dicount if you buy two lens together.

  • Hey,

Apologies for hijacking this thread. I have a Sony NEX-5 (first edition), and bought a few E-mount lenses.

I'm after something a bit better now, so am thinking about buying an A7 II.

Do you think it's better to go for an A7 II, or go for a Canon EOS 7D mII.

I'm a novice with photography, and the NEX5 does a great job with specific lighting, it just doesn't seem to be that great with a little dark light (seems slow). Even the missus' iPhone seems to do a better job.

Any comments on a7ii vs 7dii?

I'm leaning towards a7ii primarily because I have multiple lenses that I've already invested in. (18-55mm, 18-240mm, 16mm, macro)

    Thanks ;)
