Telstra $30 Prepaid Starter Pack - $15 + $10 Cash Back from CashRewards/PricePal

1420

$30 Pre-Paid SIM Starter Kit for $15 + $10 cashback from CashRewards here & free delivery.

Includes a single SIM in all sizes: Full Size, Micro and Nano

Enjoy!

MOD: PricePal is also offering the same $10 cashback for Telstra Prepaid SIM. See this merged comment. Basically

  • This deal is about Telstra $30 Prepaid SIM sold for $15
  • $10 cashback from affiliate network is available from either CashRewards or PricePal, independent from this deal.

Cashrewards has emailed me the receipt of the purchase however stating $8 cash back was processed. I guess it is a typo as I logged into my account and saw $10 cashback in my rewards balance.

i still haven't received any cashrewards email either, should i be doing something to push it along?

    • Contact cashrewards support to investigate.

      • balance is still $0. There never seems to have evenbeen any acknowledgement from cashrewards that i purchased something even though i went to the telstra store via the link on their website

  • not working now.
Cashrewards and Telstra seem to be not working.

My three orders took just one or two days to arrive, all in separate packaging.
I'm pretty sure the courier service would have cost more than $5 a pop.
But I'm ready to order more. Beats finding stuff to buy at Coles and Woolies for a $1 deal. It's cheaper just to shop at Aldi.

  • Whatever it is, Telstra should be proative and send out a communication to the buyer for further direction, rather than leaving it up in the air for the buyer to wonder what happened and to finally call Telstra.

  • 05 Aug 2015 Telstra Pre-Paid AUD 0.00 AUD 10.00

  • Got mine in the mail. Also comes with 3 months free presto as long as you buy the card and activate before end of August but can be redeemed up to end of December

  • Ordered two all received. Cash rewards email on $10 cash back also received. No problem so far.

Ordered new one today. Gone thro with no problem. Waiting to be delivered and cash rewards email next week.

  • I also got the text saying your order has been stopped.
This came after a confirmation and a tracking email.
Neither sim ordered has arrived so I guess the order was cancelled. I have been charged for both sims. Pretty annoying tbh.

      I have a better situation:

-They ordered Startrack to send the card back to Telstra
      -They did not inform me
-After I called them, they said I live in a non-existence address.
-I told them to google my address. After they found it, they said it can only be delivered in office hours and can only received by me, not even my wife.
-I told them to send to my company.
-2 days later, my 2nd card was also got send back to Telstra without letting me know
-After I call them, they said I failed security check, I have to bring my driving license, passport, medicare card, bankcard, proof of employment, 3 months payslip to the nearest Telstra shop.
-I asked if then I can get the card in that Telstra shop
-I was told that is just the beginning. The ID info will be send back to them for verification, then decide if they was to send me a card later on.
-I told them to *&(% off and give me the refund.

      • That is incredibly ridiculous

      • +1

Pretty much the same crap that I got over the phone, except they stated that I could then pick up the cards in store. (not sure if I'd then would have to jump through more hoops prior to getting the cards)

Doubt I'd get the CR bonus after this fiasco, so decided to get a refund for all six purchases. They better refund me for my first 2 purchases, as apparently they don't exist in the system (I did get email confirmation, despite the website providing a 'Sorry' message).

They wouldn't say the exact reason as to why 4 of my orders were sent back to Telstra warehouse, other than it could have been related to me making multiple purchases in the same day, or that the information I provided during the purchase was incorrect.

Should be getting the refunds in 3-5 days apparently. Will wait and see.

      • +1

exactly the same situation to me. No email to inform me the order is cancelled. I have to call them. They said they have processed the refund and emailed me but I didn't receive any email regarding refund. The reason they gave is I have a few prepaid services in my account so they thought I am suspicious. WTF!!! And if I really need a sim then buy it in store, full price of course. WTF!!!

      • +1

have you got the refund? No refund show up for me.

        • +1

          Still no refund.

        • +1

I called them again, they didn't provide a definite answer, just said someone would follow up the refund process. WTF! Robbery. Luckily I only ordered one!

        • +1

Spoke to the Telstra CSR last week, they agreed to refund the amounts, and that it would take a few days.
The process over the phone was pretty smooth and was hassle-free. (contrary to many others who have expressed having a much more difiicult time getting a resolution). Made certain to receive a reference number for the call.

So far, have received 3 refunds out of 6 on Tuesday, so I'll probably receive the rest either today or by the end of the week (depending on when they/the bank decided to process the transactions).

Hopefully the next time this offer comes around, i'll buy one or two a day, and that it'll be more successful.

@OptimisticPessimist: It has been 14 days passed after they said they processed the refund, I still not see the money show up in my credit card account. Over the phone, they kept telling you don't worry you will get your refund… But in reality, where is the refund? They charged your credit card seconds after you clicking the order submit button, they sent out the sim pack, they requested the return of the sim pack even when the startrack driver was about to deliver, then they cancelled the order without any notification, then they kept your money in their bank for interest earning, then you have no refund…

        • +1

          @vhfyagi: 100% same case with mine. ordered 1. ONE….

        • +1

Well it seems that Telstra has stuffed up again.
They refunded me 3 of my 6 purchases. Still waiting on remaining 3 refunds.
However I have now received 3 return postage envelopes, asking me to return the 3 remaining Sim card packs, of which I have received none at all. (2 orders weren't in the system, the other 4 were redirected back to DC).

Looks like another phone call to Telstra.

        • +1

@OptimisticPessimist: same here. They even delivered that return envelope via startrack. What a waste of money. But then somehow I got another deliver notification of collect a parcel at post office which turn out the sim card. So? I'm confuse

        • @erwinsie:
          Yeah its all very weird.

On a side note, CashRewards has given me $40 for 4 of my purchases (technically still pending). However I fully expect them to rescind it as soon as they get word that Telstra has refunded me my money.

        • @OptimisticPessimist:

Well Telstra have well and truly screwed me over, still haven't received the 3 remaining refunds.

Called them up, and now I apparently need to provide 3 forms of ID, to a Telstra store; in order to get refunds for SIM cards I paid for, but never received in the first place.

Truly disgraceful service. Also their 'You Have My Name' call back service is complete utter crap. Says link is active for 45 days, yet 3 days after receiving the email, trying to contact the CSR I spoke with results in a error message stating callback could not be done.

  • Looks like deal's over I've managed to get two, one was cancelled then I reordered one. After that I tried to get hold of another one and it came with a "sorry, your transaction can't be processed at this time" and no matter how many more times I've tried but to no avail :(

  • Haven't get the sim yet… Why so slow?

    • +1

your order may be cancelled. Check online tracking to see if it is returned to telstra.

      • I haven't get the tracking number, but received email confirmation the purchase went through ok. Ten days ago.

  • Ordered 3 at the weekend and all arrived safely today (Tues).

  • update: called them, mine was failed security check, the purchased considered fraud. they cancelled. only bought ONE!
    wth

    • +2

stupid security check. ppl bought multiple are fine but we bought only one failed…

  • +1

    Anyone failed got the refund?

    • i got a refund on 6 August 2015, probably for my last order which was on 3 June 2015.

      • OMG, 2 months for a refund? They took your money, cancelled your order and "refuse" refund? Is that robbery?

  • I ordered 4 over the weekend and on monday and all 4 have arrived, however I didn't get any Cash Rewards tracking. I bought by clicking through the link on their site. Has anyone else had this issue?

    • I wrote them on 3rd day, they said it can take 7 days, 4th day all showed up on Cash Rewards site. So have to wait.

  • +1

Ordered x6, received them in 2 days (Perth) and tracking worked at CashRewards after 3 or 4 days.

*If any trouble getting to order page use the link 1/2 way down page (…/608), the top link (…/3446) hasn't worked for me for 3 days due to advertiser links/redirection failure or similar.

Also Mastercard CC failed for 2 days, but Visa Debit payments succeeded.

I had a LOT of failed tries, and thought the above might aid others.

*** Also thanks to OP, claud0902. Amazing bargain. Bought x14.

    • What do you answer on the Telstra website to the first question:
I have less than five Pre-Paid mobile services (including this service) and this purchase is for private use.

Do you not count unactivated sims as one of your five mobile services, is there some way to order when you have five already, or do you just tick it anyway?

I'm not trying to be sanctimonious or anything, just curious about what ozbargainers on Telstra prepaid do.

      • Correctly, starters do not count as services (not before registration) to count against a guide line 5 rule; store as many as you like of course.

Otherwise, best policy I might suggest to use 25 cent 1258888 & 'transfer' [$10], and cM2U, functions and tools at our disposal to consolidate credit onto 4-5 accounts, we intend to continue use.

Residual balances cash out in Google play store.

Use any of the multitude external 50% offers or just any $2 sim pack will do - activate a transfer of Telstra number out and consequently close depleted account cards as needed.

      • @munodi
I don't really know how many, and just tick less than five as I only have only 3 in use. VF & Telstra keep accounts alive for a year or more I think, which have expired So I might have 20+ technically(?). I don't care myself and i'll likely claim ignorance as I'm not informed by them ever.
        Hope that explains ok.

  • Sounds like it's not worth the effort. That's some serious security paranoia from Telstra. I mean, to not allow anyone else at your residence to take the delivery.. and to require you to go in person with employment records (wtf)? They got your money already, what's the problem?

    • Exactly. The ridiculous thing is they allow ppl to buy multiple… Who is more suspicious? An order with multiple or the order with only one?

  • guys, abit out of topic but can i use the boost credits to pay for google play apps and games (just like tesltra credit)?

  • Bought 1 sim on 6 Aug, nothing received up to today and was only able to call Telstra today to get it investigated. Apparently there is a 'glitch' in the system.

  • +1

Wowee, I bought 8 more packs, and watched the StarTrack delivery interface, report a different story several checks for a given item. Big mess. Six packs started in NSW, were sent to Rocko WA near me 6168, were returned by request to NSW, marked as delivered. But two packs started n Perth, and were sent to NSW as delivered, I am in Perth so why, what, where is happening with this?? HaHa.
Called them, Startrack were ok but could not explain anything useful.
    Bizaro world Jerry, Bizaro world…

  • stupid cashrewards never gave me $10 back

emailed them and they got me to send them invoices and haven't heard back

  • I bought a few. Telstra sent 3, then requested StarTrack to return to sender. No email about cancellation and I was still charged with no refund to date. I've emailed them today. Anyone still get charged and not refunded?

    • +1

      Yep, still no refund here.

      • +1

        Yep, same here.

Need to give 3 forms of ID to a Telstra store, just to get this sorted, according to the CSR I spoke to today.
