Telstra $30 Prepaid Starter Pack - $15 + $10 Cash Back from CashRewards/PricePal

1420

$30 Pre-Paid SIM Starter Kit for $15 + $10 cashback from CashRewards here & free delivery.

Includes a single SIM in all sizes: Full Size, Micro and Nano

Enjoy!

MOD: PricePal is also offering the same $10 cashback for Telstra Prepaid SIM. See this merged comment. Basically

  • This deal is about Telstra $30 Prepaid SIM sold for $15
  • $10 cashback from affiliate network is available from either CashRewards or PricePal, independent from this deal.

Cashrewards has emailed me the receipt of the purchase however stating $8 cash back was processed. I guess it is a typo as I logged into my account and saw $10 cashback in my rewards balance.

    Time to stock up again.

  • Is it limited to one kit per customer?

    • No, one kit per order (if you want the $10 cashback for each).

      • Is it correct to say that if we order one at a time, we can get the $10 cash back for all the orders ?

        • +1

Yes. Although I had to manually chase up all my orders (from last time) with PricePal and CashRewards (but that's more likely to be browser related or just poor tracking on their part).

Make sure you start from cashrewards for each.

          @Lukian:

Thanks, that is good to know.

          1. Start a fresh browser.
          2. Remove/Disable adblocker
          3. Go to Cashrewards and login.
          4. From cashrewards, go to telstra offer and buy only 1 card.
          5. check back in Cashrewards.
          6. Close the broswer.
          7. Repeat from step 1 if you want to get more cards.

@Lukian: i never got mine. how did you manage to get pricepal to pay?

        • @fatice: Except that we don't seem to have a cashrewards URL for $15 Telstra this time.. hmm.

        • +1

@fatice: Ah right, you have to scroll down the page to see the offer. (there's a second link for "Go to store" when you mouseover 50% off

        • @fatice:

          remove/disable adblock

        • +1

@aldoduco: I'm fairly certain I accidentally left it enabled last time and was able to follow up my cashbacks.

Cashback will be paid once per 'checkout' from Telstra

  • OP - There is no cashback from CR on telstra prepaid. Link that you posted is for telstra go-mobile plan.

    ZELDA

Op when i get to the link and go to sim cards, all i get is the 30$ sim card offer, not the 15% one.

    https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/prepaid-mobiles/30-…

    • Yeah me either. I don't see the $15 one listed.

Can we go directly the Deal URL or will that break the cashback?

    • +4

Needs to go down in the link webpage where you will see a box says

      "Telstra Pre-Paid
Save 50% on Telstra $30 Pre-Paid SIM Starter Kit
      Plus $10.00 Cashback"

Then click go to store from there.

      • Thanks!

  • I assume these can be used for google play credits? If so, I might get one to support some devs :-)

    • +1

      Yes

      • Is there instructions on how to convert to google play credits?

        • +1

I don't think you can convert it to credits, but you can spend it in google play store.

while connected to telstra network and not on wifi. buy something and when you go pay for it, there is a drop down arrow to allow you to select how you want to pay. I think the option is called carrier billing.

        • @nerd1:

Can still be on WiFi, the SIM just has to be active and in the device

        • @kudoz83:

haha i'm being corrected all over the place…. well I thought i tried it on my phone and had to turn off wifi.

        • thanks heaps

  • May not be the place to ask here, but has anyone receive their cashback from the last CashReward + Telstra deal back in the start of June?

My cashback has been sitting as 'cash balance' but not 'cash available' for quite a while.

    • I guess it takes 90 days to get cash back in your account. So may be wait for few more weeks.

    • a friend of mine got it, I am still waiting on mine.

    • Different topic but when you purchased your packs last time, what is the expiry date printed on the back?

      • 2017

        • Thanks. Should be pretty safe to buy this to use a long time later when we need it.

  • Is it ok to buy a bunch even If I got 5 prepaid sims already on my account?

    • If they have no credit, technically yes.
If you want to obey (the law?), just have them removed from your account.
Telstra have a hard limit of ~30 (including inactive?), so you'll likely have to clean them out at some point in the future anyway.

      • So if i do have 5+ and select the option saying I don't have more than 5 I should be fine? also whats the best way to get them removed from my account

        • Yes. LiveChat. I have at least 9 on my account, the majority of which expired over 6mths ago with $0 credit. They won't care or check. Technically you could be reselling them (unless terms prohibit, although you gave them your ID, so you may be responsible for the SIM) or simply saving them for a rainy day when you have less than 5 services (last batch was expiry ~May 2017), so you're likely still fine to purchase them.

    • Just get them to throw the $30 credit on an existing number instead

  • I am new to prepaid so I have a question, is it possible to transfer credits from these to an existing number without registering the new number?

    • If you have an existing Telstra prepaid number, you can transfer the credit using 'Credit ME2U' for a 25c fee per $10 (max per day).

It's easier if you have a spare phone to do this, but there's nothing stopping you temporarily swapping the SIM into your own phone, or even doing it via Telstra LiveChat.

      • thanks Lukian but can I do that without going and registering the new number?

        • I'm not sure what you mean by "registering". You have to "activate" the SIM, which does activate it's own number, but you don't have to use the number, nor transfer it.

        • @Lukian: register==activate sorry about the terminology but yes thanks for the info

        • you will have to active the new sim and start trasnferring the credit in the first 30(?) days.

        • @nerd1: Depends which offer/expiry option you chose. But within 30 days is the default expiry after activation.

      • I can do $20 per day.

$10 from the app (web portal)
        $10 from dialing #100#.

        • That'll speed up transfers and #100# means not accidentally using mobile data on the ones people choose to activate as long expiry. Thanks!

        • FYI I was able to get the web portal to do more than 1 transfer per day to the same number
          YMMV

        • @1stOzBarginer:
If you use different browsers on your phone you should be able to transfer more than once.

        • @fatice:
How do you transfer from (web portal) which one is it online or app?

  • +5

use this cashrewards link instead of the one above and it will direct you to the discounted prepaid SIM on telstra http://www.cashrewards.com.au/coupons/save-50-on-telstra-30-…

    • Thanks, updated link in body.

  • Looks like Telstra is enforcing maximum prepaid accounts of 4 per person (ie. less than 5). Can't buy the 5th sim.

    • No, that's a credit card limit, change cards.

  • what the ….There was a connectivity issue while processing your request and we can't confirm if the payment was made. Please check your bank/credit card statement to see if the payment was processed.

    • Did you order more than one? Have you used that card recently for ~3+ transactions from Telstra?

    • Sorry, the pre-paid mobile shop is misbehaving

Sorry, the pre-paid mobile shop is misbehaving. Our online team is on the case. Please try again later or find your nearest Telstra store.

      • only 194 clicks, I don't think we've overwhelmed it yet!

  • How long does it take for the order to show up in cash rewards?

    • +1

They have a nice FAQ for that.

  • I'll pass - still waiting for the Cashback from June. Logged a query with CR and this is where it's at:

    June 11th:

We have submitted an enquiry with Telstra, in relation to your cashback.
Enquiries for non-reported transactions generally take 30 - 90 days for a resolution.

    I'm now 54 days in…

BTW: I followed all of the CR instructions perfectly.

    • Does Cashreward need you to activate the sim card before giving cash back ?

      • No, not at all.

CR rely on the transaction being reported back to them from Telstra, that you made the purchase. CR asked me to provide a copy of the invoice, which I did.

      • no

    • Ugh. You are right. My PricePal enquiries were answered speedily (and cashback granted), but my CashRewards one, they haven't gotten back to me.

    • +1

Note to self, now 70 days & no follow up from Cashrewards yet..

      • I fired off a query yesterday and the end result = I got the cash back finally! $12 too :)

So I came back and +'d the deal while here :)

  • The site is getting OZbargained!!

  • is there a limit per account for the cashback? or its only max of $10?

  • How quick do these get posted out?

    • last time arrived within a week

  • if only those cashreward etc can give firm confirmation before and after we click "purchase" …

  • Even without the cashback this is a good deal.

    • $10-12 is a good deal, $8 is a great deal, $1 is a fantastic deal and $0 is the best deal!

$15 is an average deal, because it's quite common. By that claim 20% off iTunes cards is a good deal!

      • We're been spoiled by some really good deals on ozb but at $15 that is still a really good deal. That's 50% off anything on the google play store. 2 itunes cards for the price of 1 is a good deal which is essentially the same as this money-wise.

The best itunes deal I got was a free $10 card on ozbargain but that was a once-off a long time ago.

  • got two $30 for $2 last month but one already gone… apps at google stores are not cheap! ordered one this time until someone fully confirmed we can get unlmited time cash rewards $10 back.
Maybe cash reward rep? he is normally here around ozb

  • I've never used Telstra Prepaid Kit before - Hope someone may be able to help advise me.

    1) Am I right to say I can choose any of the plans (Freedom, Long-life etc) with this Kit?

    2) If I purchase 2 or more kits, can I just activate the first one; then use my additional kits as recharges?

    Thanks!

    • 1) Yes
      2) No, you must activate both sims. But you could do CM2U but that will only transfer the "recharge credit($30)" not talk/txt credit($220)

      • Thanks Jetship.

With regards to 2), does that mean I can use one kit to sign up for Long Life which will give me $30 credit for 6 months, and in ~4 months time when I've used the $30, I can activate my second kit and CM2U $29 of credit ($30 less 3x 25cents fee) to my Long Life number?

      • Hi, so confirming, I activate 2x $30 Starter Kits.

Both have $30 credit on each, and I can CM2U at $10 a time (costs 25c) and do this a few times.

Then my initial Prepaid sim could have $59 on it, and I can buy an In App Purchase off Google Play using this credit?

I have a Premium IAP that I want that costs $34. Hoping this would work

  • Dies anyone know how long it takes for these to get delivered?

    • I think it was 1-3 days, but don't quote me on that.

  • Are these just for phone credit or is it 3Gb of data for 30 days.. I picked up a few from the last Coles deal and these look exactly like those

    • Either* although I think you'll find it is 2GB data, unless the rates have changed since I last checked.

*livechat or a phone call may be required to activate it on an iPad (data) plan.

      • the $1 $30 Sim from WW gave me 3GB

  • thanks op!

  • Misbehaving/crashed etc- it figures.

  • How long after purchase at Telstra should the transaction show up at Cashrewards if it worked?

    • +1

sometimes within a week sometimes never

  • Ordered 3 and now the 4th won't go through, says I'd have to call them (I believe there are 3 old prepaids still active on my account, so they must be checking now?)

    • Yep, same issue here. I only have two active prepaids though.

    • +1

No it's 3 per credit card. Change your card.
