  • jb and GG also selling it for 995

    • THe JB Hifi website show ~$1100 and the GG website show a ~$1100 price in some Queensland Stores

      • yeah, you are correct but some users in WP got it for $995. Anyway, its pretty decent TV, it has great PQ and also very good in handling fast motion.

If you want a 42" Sharp you can pick one up for $1400 with Xbox 360 Elite pack, or you can also get the LG for about $1300~ with bonus 23" LCD. Both have 3 year warranty and 100Hz motion interpolation.

Otherwise, for no mucking around this Toshiba is a good deal with 2 year warranty.

where is this LG deal you speak of?

      • Bing Lee (in NSW/ACT) have plenty of stock and are very capable of doing a good deal on these units. Can't speak for others, though.

          $1,300? where?

    • +1

I also would like to know where you can get the LG for $1300?
Its listed on their site at $2644 MRP*
      http://www.lge.com/au/tv-audio-video/televisions/LG-lcd-tv-4…

JB can do it for $1,886.01 (AUD)

      • Give me a few days and I'll put up a post with it :)

        • A few days? The deal is gonna expire soon!

          • @alamodey: Best I can do considering today is Christmas and tomorrow is boxing day (BL are closed) :)

As long as you put money down on it before the 31st Dec it doesn't matter if you don't have the TV, you can still fill out your claim form and say the TV is on backorder.

            • @cyssero: Are you saying the LG TV will go for $1,300 as part of the stocktake sale?

              • -1

@alamodey: No, I am saying that since the store is closed for 2 days I won't be able to get any more information for you.

                • +1

@cyssero: So why even mention an LG for $1300 with a bonus 23" LCD if it will take you two days to get any actual information for us?

You must have some idea to even mention it.

      • I think you're looking at the wrong model. I went to bing lee today and they offered this model for $1,350: http://www.lge.com/au/tv-audio-video/televisions/LG-lcd-tv-4…

It's also eligible for the bonus 23" lcd tv.

        • Didn't realise any stores were open on Christmas Day. There's a chance I could have been looking at the 35FD instead of the 50YD, as I said, will check on Sunday.

        • Definitely the 35FD (50Hz), my mistake. Price should be ~$1250 last time I checked, not $1350. Negotiate further and if you're interested you should be able to get it for $1250. If price has gone up I will double check and let you know.

          • @cyssero: I went out and bought it today for $1,290. Pretty good deal I think. I'm filling in the 23" lcd redemption form now, do you know if the invoice number is the bold writing in the top right such as CA2C91 or is it the number that is labelled as NUMBER: next to the INVOICE TOTAL: e.g. 321543

            Thanks.

  • good deal for a brand name LCD

  • Sounds like a good deal to me for a brand-name full HD panel of that size.

Are there any TV's that are more than 24" and don't have a 16:9 aspect ratio?

    • +1

Nope. Commercial grade have all sorts of ratios but you won't find a consumer grade television not 16:9.

      • +1

Thought so. I was just confused why the title mentions the "Aspect Ration [sic]" when it would be a given.

        • Didn't realise that - good point :)
