  • Any 40" special?

  • No stock 4000

    • No stock 3000

  • Is this a decent Brand?

How does it compare to a Hisense brand?

    • I found it better than hisense. When I was looking at a cheap TV for the kids room I narrowed it down to TCL and Changhong for PQ and a little gaming. YMMV but the 40" Changhong in the kids play room is still going great for me and when I was testing them the hisense wasn't as good (or worth the price they wanted at the time)

    • CHANGHONG is a big brand in China, for 400$ (40") I think they are just fine. Get the 40" LED, through in a Cromecast and you are right on par with premium brand smart TV's.

      • Only need 32"

        • Cheapest 32" I've seen for a lil while. Not to say something could be cheaper round the corner, but yeah :)

  • Any good for computer ?? Eith some gaming???

    • This not FHD just in case you didn't know so sitting close enough to it like would do in front of a computer monitor you might notice the difference.

    • No. It isn't full HD and TV's are pretty bad for gaming, unless you are using a console. TV's lack display ports, have a slow response time and are limited in their refresh rate to usually 60hz if you're lucky. For console gaming though, go ahead.

Does this do USB recording and playback of media (MP4, AVI, Mov, etc) files?

  • No stock for me anyhow ;(

  • None in Tasmania.

  • Both 32"and 40" temporarily out of stock!!! So it says on website!

  • I have this tv, cost $262 from DS about a month or two ago.

Plays avi and mp4 fine. Haven't tried usb recording but apparently it does.

If wall mounting you need a 200 x 400 pattern which isn't overly common.

Makes a pop kind of noise when changing between channels.

The EPG is also pretty ordinary, doesn't say the program name for most of the channels, so you have to flick between channels to see whats on.

Overall the tv is pretty good for a bedroom.

bought a changhong 32" 6 years ago and still going strong. even survived a 6 foot drop.

    • That's a real tv with these days' tv standard.

  • Would have been perfect for the kids rumpus but as usual, no stock available anywhere within Brisbane. In the last 2 weeks since looking for a 32"-40" TV, both the Dick Smith branded and Changhong haven't been available.

    And so the wait continues!!

  • Big W had some 40" tvs at $339 when I was looking a few weeks ago. I ended up getting a 40" dse brand one for $285, as their discount codes overlapped with a discounted price briefly (wasn't live long enough to post it here). Big W you can use a 5% discounted WISH card if you have access to them, to knock another $16 off the price.
