  • far out, that toshiba tv is at an insane price!

    • +1

The Panasonic Blu Ray ain't bad either. Wish I held on to my gift cards a little longer! :D

      • you and me both, lol

      • +1

+1 for the bluray player. Great price for a branded unit!

  • holy crap ! Toshiba 46" for $1181?? that's ridiculously cheap.

  • Goddamn if I didn't already have a 46" I'd pick that Toshiba right up. That's bloody cheap.

  • Is the Garmin GPS any good? Anyone know what model it is

  • How about Sony camera?

    • The model is DCSW180, down from $198 I believe

    • yes i can confirm that the camera is a Sony DSC-W180, i did however manage to get this at The Good Guys for $149 with an extra 1 yr warranty on top of the standard sony 1yr warranty which was good.

great camera for the budget conscience.

  • does anyone know if the toshiba is this model http://www.toshibaav.com.au/spec_46RV600A.html

    or the 100hz one: http://www.toshibaav.com.au/spec_46XV600A.html

i think its an awesome price. does anyone have any feedback on quality and such on toshiba tv's?

    • I was comparing all of the brands last week with my girlfriend when she was hunting for a new TV. We noticed that Toshiba, Sharp and LG were isolated away from Sony, Samsung and Panasonic despite having similar sizes - we thought all the 46" would be close together. When we found them we realised why they were isolated - the picture quality could not be compared with the other brands on any level. The Toshiba(which she was keen on buying before comparing) picture quality was noticeable not as clear, quite fuzzy actually and had much more duller colours, almost like it had a transparent white sheet over it.

      • Could have just been the demonstration one, i have one very similar to this one and it is crystal clear, great PQ

If they were in different areas then they probably had different sources . The TV's with the highest margin for the retailer will invariably have the best picture quality .

I work in a JB Store and I can tell you that we don't manually fine tune every TV we have. We usually just let it adjust automatically to save time, but that is almost never reliable. You should ask the salesperson to manually fine tune the Toshiba LCD, chances are the picture quality will be alot better.

    • My guess would be the 46RV600A. The 100hz model 46XV600A currently also comes with a free netbook which is valid until end of Jan 2010. See here https://redemption.isd.toshiba.com.au/r_currentredemptionlis…

I also found this link for a review of the 42" model.

JB website claims it has a media card slot and usb inputs, so i would assume the 100hz one, as the other one doesnt seem to have them.

  • ohh thats not too good! what about the hisense 42inch full hd. was in last week at jb hifi and the picture quality looking amazing.. colours were vivid. it would go nicely with the $200 panasonic blu ray player there selling!

  • anyone know what model is the free promo netbook on the toshiba lcd it might come with? on the website it say PLL3EA-002007 but i cannot find any information or review of this model anywhere. thanks.

    Merry Christmas everyone

    • This netbook might be the one:
      http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/notebooks/nbseries/nb20…

It might be worth trying to get a qualifying 100Hz model and sell the netbook for around $500.

Going to try The Good Guys on the weekend for a $1500 price on the 46XV600A.

      • If that is the model, then there is also a $100 cashback on it atm. Not sure if you can claim it through the TV bonus though.

  • dodgy - the guy on the tv ad said the 50" panasonic plasma was FULL HD - but the website lists it as just HD

    • so either we wait for the retraction or someone take jb to the accc if they dont honour it???

  • Really sweet price on the Pana blu ray. Anyone think they'll have a large amount of stock??

  • do they open on Saturday in sydney for this "boxing day sale"? and what time?

    • Yes, they do, it says in their webpage. Anybody in Sydney can confirm if the Toshiba 46" is 50 or 100hz? or maybe tell the model for us in Adelaide?

      • It says offer from Sunday in Adelaide and NSW
        Sydney is in NSW

  • It's TOSHIBA 46RV600 46" 50hz

    • Thanks, it is very cheap but I want a 100hz one. I think I'm going to buy the 46" Bravia 100hz from The Good Guys for $1898. I haven't seen any other cheaper than that so far.

  • OMG OMG OMG MY BOOT…IT WAS FULL X.x

got the toshiba lcd and the soniq hd settop box X.x

    • how's the picture quality of the Toshiba when compared with a Panasonic or Samsung Full HD TV.

Is it no match when compared with an LED?

btw, why did you buy a set top box when you bought a hd tv?

  • I can get 100Hz Sony Bravia 46" 1797$ !?!?..

  • +1

I got one TOSHIBA 46RV600 46” 50hz this morning and very happy with it so far. I couldn't compare it closely with others, because the display was sitting alone. But I could tell the colour is vivid, the brightness and contrast are both fine. I like to watch sports and I was watching NBA this morning and I couldn't tell there were much motion delay. Consider it is only 50Hz but a Full HD at this price it is a real bargain! I was there at 9:26am and already 3 sold, Brisbane McGregor store. I was told they only have 5 or 6 in stock. I guess all of them are gone now. I wouldn't get the 46XV600A model because it is an older model and not "that" much difference. For extra $400 you get a netbook and it is a 100Hz tho. The Hisense 42" Full HD 100Mhz is a good one too but we like ours BIG! The Toshiba comes with 2 years warranty but the guy said only "1" year and tried to sell me extended warranty. This unit also comes with an SD card slot for photo viewing only, and a USB port for MP3 and DivX movie. I tested it with a Xvid format and it works too. Anything else you like to know? Just my 10c first post.

  • You looking for W and WE?

Should i get W series or Z series?

  • Hi guys, I bought the Toshiba 46 yesterday and am struggling to get any sort of sharp image. Even watching The Dark Knight on the PS3 through a HDMI cable. What settings are you guys using? Anyone care to share?

  • I am looking for a Samsung LA46B750

Any ideas where the best prices would be?

  • BTW - Sony 46" W5500 is $1869 at all Myer stores today.

    • I bought mine at Myer Adelaide for $1760

  • How much is Sony 40” W5500 and Sony 40” Z5500 ?

    • The 40" Sony W5500 was $1520 and the 40" Z5500 about $1820

  • +3

    Hi guys,

I got one Toshiba 46" which is 46XV550A this morning.

100HZ, all fine, color, picture, brightness and contrast are all wonderful.

When watching NBA this morning and I couldn’t tell there were any motion delay as well.

I was there at 8:45am and was at no 3 at the queue, I just feel so lucky since the other 2 guys were interested in games and other products. That's the last one in that store today.

Anything else you like to know? Vote me if you don't mind.

    • Where and how much, if you don't mind?

      • +1

        • Thanks.

I tried JB at world square and GVB but they do not stock this model. Advised to go to JB at Bondi.

        • i was at jb blacktown yesterday and is selling 46xv550a around $1600, how did u get this price ?

  • I'm looking to buy Sony Z5500 , W5500 or WE5 so expensive atm. Not sure to get 40" or 46" Wanting to get it when Blu-ray Promotion is still available.

    • Went to HN last night and got the KDL40W5500 for $1491 including a surge protector + extra 4 years warranty. So this bring the warranty period to 7 years. Was happy with an extra 2 year on top of the Sony promotional 3 years but the sales person offered the 4 years.

Best price JB did on that TV with extra 2 years + HDMI was $1591.

  • Anyone know where in SE QLD might have RV or XV for this or similar price? Few JB's I rang were sold out of RV and never stocked XV, yet some stores (as stated above) stock the XV and did it for the cheap price.

  • Got 46RV600A for 1250 including total 5 years warranty. The TV is great and the picture is very good. Reads all formats from external HDD with USB interface.
