  • FYI Adelaide's a bargain if you are really into wine.
Last time we took the inaugural Tiger flight (yes I wanted to try it and got enthusastic from sales posted here)… Mrs hated it so I've monitored sale fares for a long time.

QF's last 3-4 sales on this route were $115 each way; $26 off a sale price is a MAJOR deal for QF, so maybe there are other coompetitive factors at play.

Cheaper than JetStar! Better too, goes without sayin'. ;)

See you on the May 28-30 flights? :)
Book it with bPay to avoid the $7.70 ea surcharge.

    Hope this helps.

(Wine people: If you love wine and link this deal, check out my winedriving.com forum… would love your trip report on your next wine journey!)

  • Bought flights between canberra and melbourne. Qantas offered flight times that were better for us than virgin and for a lower fare too. Was very happy about this sale. Never flying with tiger ever again. Too much risk in them changing flight times and having serious delays.

  • FYI VirginBlue might be slightly cheaper with a corresponding sale (e.g. SYD-ADL $79 rather than $89 but obviously no frills like food/drinks).

Meanwhile, Tiger's $58 for the same flight ('Never Again' from my Mrs, too!):

Has anyone else pulled the trigger on any of these sales?

    • Virgin's prices also do not include any checked baggage. With Qantas you get 23kg of checked baggage… plus food and drinks.

      • There's an inflight meal between Sydney to Melbourne? When I was a kid it was only a sandwich. I'd be surprised if they still kept serving a small meal. Do you happen to know what it is?//

        • depends on what time you fly…

if its around breakfast time or dinner time then you get the corresponding meal, otherwise you might get a snack - like a biscuit or a muffin, plus a drink of some sort..
