With that said, these are my notes on this product:

Sub has adjustable power on back. Satellites connect to a controller via a single 3.5mm plug. The controller is small, has volume adjustment, a power switch and headphone output socket. It could probably sit beside one of the speakers or hidden when not wanted.

So far, I've just been using the satellites on their own powered directly by my phone, as I can just choose the Late Night EQ setting and blast my music from any app at around 90% with no problems, other than the EQ compressing the quiet parts of the occasional track.

I'm just going to use the satellites like this I think. This is going to be kept in the kitchen, for when I'm cooking or washing dishes and just want better sounding music than my smartphone speaker can manage. Might have to test the sub at some stage to make sure it works too I guess 😀

My rating: 3.7/5 - It's cheap! But I know better can be had if I could afford to pay more to find out.

Nice review, cheers for the effort.

  • Still using my Logitech X240 which buzzes a crap load, probably due to crappy magnetic shielding. Sound quality is good otherwise.

I also had these before and as you'd expect, the mid-range is fairly mediocre and the bass needs to be turned all the way up. For gamers it'll be a decent choice but not so good for serious music enjoyment.

  • Looks the quality is far better than acceptable.

Hooked up to a PC or to an LCD, you'll find them to be absolutely fine as long as you're not expecting B&W performance but then who is?

  • I find these speakers are very average sounding, but they are better than many 2.0 speakers at this price, and they are surprisingly compact.
Better for gaming and movies then music as mentioned.

I have a set of these. It's the older style, but the same thing. They sound pretty good and loud enough for gaming and a bit of music; especially for the price, but it's a complete lie about them having a sub woofer. It's a decent bass speaker, but the impedance range is too high to be classed as a genuine sub woofer.

  • Cheers OP, good to fill out the desk with hardware!

  • Great compact speakers for the price. Pricematched with officeworks.

  • Pricematched at Officeworks Chatswood (7 or so left). Didn't even need to show him (store manager) the goodguys price, couple of other guys picked up a set before. Asked him if he knows ozbargain, he answered he is on there as well lol

Speakers sound quite decent for $22. Quite an upgrade from my inbuilt monitor speakers.
