Major League Baseball Streaming - MLB.TV Premium - $35 AUD

90

A great time to get in on the Major League Baseballs MLB.TV streaming service. For just $35 AUD, you can get the rest of the regular season with about 50 games left for each team (just under 2 months) and you get access to the playoffs in HD!

Premium service allows portability access. Basic service can be had for $27 AUD.

Worth getting in on, still plenty of great baseball to be had with Yankees/Toronto, Houston/LA, LA/SF, New York/Washington and a pretty intense wildcard race throughout both conferences.

I believe this is a weekend deal.

  • How's the streaming from the US? I find US Netflix buffers a lot, wondering if this would be similar.

    • +1

Honestly, I'm guessing you might have some issues. If you're struggling with Netflix then I'd say you might have some problems with MLB.tv + you have to worry about blackout restrictions.

      • +1

I subscribe to MLB every year.
Yes, if you struggle with netflix then you'll find the same with this. Similar bandwidth requirements.

Not sure what you mean about blackout restrictions @knowingnothing ?? There's no blackout restriction when you're accessing MLB from anywhere outside of the US and Canada. I can get any game from here in Oz.

        • He said from US.

        • @KnowingNothing:

          Oops. Sorry. I can't read :)

Edit: Decent vpn (with enough bandwidth) you can bypass blackouts from within US.

    • I stream on mobile and using the PS4 MLB.TV app (requires US PS account) and don't have any issues.
HD streaming doesn't buffer too much and it seems to do a good job of adapting to your connection speed.

  • Do I need VPN or DNS services to watch MLB.TV?

    • No you don't.
Blackout restrictions apply if you're within a region of a team's home game.
If you're in Australia you'll have access to all games.

    • No. Full access straight away.

    • No.

I usually watch it from an wdtv player. Have also watched it using their android app on my tablet plus just from my windows pc over the internet. No fiddling. Just works.

      • "over the internet."
As apposed to with the other devices? Smoke signals?

        • Shouldn't you be doing your homework ?
I can hear your mum outside your door …

        • @redcreek200:
          Good one…

  • What's the usual price?

    • +1

$25 a month. Was $50 for rest of season yesterday.

So you're paying for 3 months for $25.

      US prices that is

    • I got a subscription for the entire season plus playoffs. From memory it was about $US120 or so. Post season playoffs aren't available from within US or Canada, but they are elsewhere.

  • I just started following MLB in the last few weeks, so thanks for this, its been frustrating trying to watch things locally (we have the one game on Foxtel)…

For those that missed the disclaimer, this will auto-renew at the full price next season unless you cancel it.
I cancelled immediately, access works like a dream.

I like the streaming on my phone, as well as the ability to check different feeds and have other scores visible. I've been impressed enough with the website features before subscribing and this just makes it better.

If anyone needs a team to follow, I'd suggest the best team in the whole world ever ever ever, which is the Toronto Blue Jays.

Plus, they have Australian Liam Hendricks out of the pen.

Totally agree. Too bad the 11 game winning streak ended today (damn that Evil Empire… lol).
After 21 years in the wilderness, we may finally get back to the post season. Woohoo!

      • It was a tough one to watch, but then run was bound to end at some point (although that one was hard to swallow).

The pieces are in place. It should be a fun (or very frustrating) 2 months!

  • I'm about 50/50 on whether to go for this or not. Do they have a "condensed game" type thing like the NFL have?

Does baseball have multiball yet? I can't remember when Futurama said that was coming.

  • bit the bullet and paying for it right now. is there a cap on the number of streams? can i watch it at work while someone is watching at home on my account?

Alternatively, you may want to check out firstrowsports.eu

    It's a fair bit cheaper.
