  • Someone was handing out leaflets for this on a nearby corner at lunch time today in 7C (after windchill) weather.

Should this really be posted on a nation wide site?
That said, i think we ought to introduce a regional/location feature for OzBargain

  • All I can say is… GO FOR IT!

Ay caramba!!! Their Burrito is the best.
I've been to free burrito day in two places in Canberra, and I agree… They are amazingly efficient, specially if you consider they are giving it for free. And the quality is as good as in any day.

Not associated with G&G, just a big fan. :)
    Aprovechen.

  • In case nobody has figured it out, water is free in Australia. If your smart enough to bring your wallet you can also manage to bring a bottle of water.

    • If you forgot your water Priceline is the cheapest place to pick up a bottle.

      • Yeh its so complicated to remember to bring your wallet and some water. How did we manage in the 80s.

    • How?? I've been paying my water bills all these years and I never knew!

      • Im going to start a business selling bottled air and charge $50. I will be a billionaire overnight. ALl these idiots buying water when they can just open a tap, which is exactly what most bottled companies are doing.

      • Given we pay cents per mega liter, a 2L bottled water should cost at most a fraction of cent. The disgrace is these same aresholes who buy bottled water leave their empty bottles and pollute the environment.

I hope the day comes when all these bottle purchases are tracked and these people are fined to hell when their bottles hit the beaches and water ways.

  • So awesome. If I'm finally well by then, I'm heading up to Melbourne for this.

    • A trip just for a free burrito?

      • +1

        Yes.

That and I like going to Melbourne. This would just take care of lunch.

        • No argument here, neither against the city or the food :)

  • PAN SEARED BARRAMUNDI BURRITO

    You must try it!

  • How much is delivery?

    • +1

      $10, hand-delivered by me! ;)

Just like drugs, the first hit is always free and then you're hooked.

  • For anyone going along - let me know how the tiling work turned out.

My father and brother did it (traveled interstate, so you all better appreciate the hard work), didn't get a chance to see how it turned out.

    Cheers.

  • Any live updates would be appreciated :) i.e. approx wait times

  • +1

Walked down there around 10:45am, line was fairly short and had a hot burrito filled with chipotle goodness in my hands by 11:15am.

When I was leaving, line was down near Krispy Kreme on Collins St.

  • Wait time close to 1 hour now lol

  • Just finished my free chips and burrito bowl, and free water handed out by Virgin Active. The wait was probably around 45 minutes but it was worth it. Delicious and filling.

    • +1

I left half an hour ago too - similar wait, started half way across Krispy Kreme and had burrito in hand 40 minutes later.

I went past on my way in to town and saw the queuing. 45 minute wait to get a $7 burrito, yeah pass, I love a bargain but my time is worth more than that. Looked like Russians queuing up in early 1980's Moscow trying to get a loaf of bread and a kilo of sugar.

  • I couldn't be bothered waiting..
Cought the train to melb central and got a free ripper deal (wrap chips drink) using $5 credit …will prob go at around 3 when it gets empty
