QANTAS Los Angeles Return BRI $971, SYD $980, MEL $985, ADL $1062, PER $1064 @ Bestjet

840

Saw this deal and this comment (many thanks to both OPs) and believe these fares need their own post as not only are they cheaper, but they include all credit card fees. Flights from the east coast are direct, whereas Perth & Adelaide are via Melbourne. Flights to LA are split between 747s & A380s. Happy travels :)

These fares are available all of May 2016, with return dates until mid June 2016.

  • was bestjet one of the 3rd parties that werent able to confirm itineraries for that price error from qantas a month or so back?

    • Im interested to know this too, before I book.

    • What happened? did people have their reservations cancelled or not receive their tickets?

Just take the bestjet fare to Flight Center and they will match it, if you are concerned about booking with bestjet.

and pay with flight center giftcards you bought from woolies with 5% entertainment book discount

Great deal mate. Does anyone know what I can expect to pay for a cheap fare from LA to NY?

Yep I've used that website before. Was more wondering if someone helpful could suggest an approximate cost without having to search for specific dates.

  • About $65 more booking direct with Qantas and possibly easier to upgrade too.

you can't upgrade sale fares (which these are) and it makes no difference whether you book through a travel agent or Qantas direct in terms of your upgrade chances. It's all about status and booking class and various other factors. And you also don't have to pay Qantas' BS "credit card" charges. Or you could just book direct and use the gift voucher method to avoid the fees.

      • Minor correction - you can't/it's very hard to upgrade sale fares for the international leg, but perfectly fine to upgrade the domestic legs (depending on availability). I upgraded the final leg from BNE-PER using 20,000 points, so I can enjoy their new business class after a long trip back from LA :)

      • I prefer booking directly with QF primarily so I don't have to deal with crappy travel agent websites and call centres to do stuff like seat selection. Do use the gift voucher method all the time, of course. The additional cost is also slightly offset by bonus CC points.

I thought this deal should have had a code like FLYARSE lol

  • Need another delta sale (cheap tix to chicago)

  • It says 2 bags… What is 2 bags? 30kg? 50kg? Would booking through 3rd parties mean that you won't get Qantas point?

Be very careful when booking flights with bestjet. I was going to book with them a few weeks ago, but after reading so many bad reviews about them I decided to go with flight centre.

  • These guys seem to have better price all around - good find TA!

I used bestjet to buy my Syd to LA flights earlier this year. Was a bit iffy about it but everything was fine.

I never had to contact them about anything so don't know what the customer service is like but I'd use them again

And yes it turned up in my Qantas account and I got my QFF points for the flight

  • Expired… ?

  • I wish I could do a multi-city search on their site.

No sympathy if things go pear shaped.
