  • Seriously? After everyone's made enough money to buy some capsules for their Lavazza machines from Target?

  • Can't really find any reviews or discussion about this machine. Not even on Swedish Google. All I could find was that it only had 1 small reseller in all of Sweden (and it was not in stock).

Looks a bit retro if you are willing to go for a $400 gamble and/or want an accessory to match your kitchen more than a coffee machine. Otherwise you might as well go for a much cheaper nespresso machine which start as low as $109 in the recent, and still current I believe, deal. You even got a milk warmer, which I don't see any mention of here, and it's a safe and trusted brand.

  • Im waiting for the Mongolian version.

  • Coffee machines are becoming the new printers: machine just gets given away, buy the refills.
My local IGA has some promo of free coffee machine when you buy 8 packets of coffee capsules. Enough said.

    • Agreed, there have been several deals with free machines with the purchase of pods. Paying $399 for a machine that needs special pods is just buying the Betamax of coffee machines

      • The Sjostrand machine can use any pods that are compatible to Nespresso. Obviously we would hope you would consider biodegradable pods.

    • Theres gold in those hills!

Seriously I only use my pod machine now and then, when I need a real kick from a espresso.. I still drink instant. I should buy some fresh beans and repack mine.

    • You can buy refillable metal pods. Then you can grind your own coffee into them. Freshly ground beans will always taste better than coffee that was ground and put in a bod a few months ago in the factory.

      • Where???? Could use these for my Caffitaly…

        • I've seen a bunch of them around for nespresso machines. Don't know if they exist for caffitaly.

Quick google turns up some interesting links:

          https://www.my-cap.com/caffitaly/foil-seals-to-reuse-your-ca…

          http://www.caffita.info/articles/capsule-review/caffitaly-re…

          http://www.instructables.com/id/CBTL-Beverage-Capsules-recyc…

Seems some people think the caffitaly pods can be reused as long as you empty and seal them

        • @simulacrum:

Saw those as well, hence i asked.
The seals can be obtained from ebay for about $42 for 100. Seems almost that it isn't worth the hassle (as long a you stock up on capsules when they're on special)… still have to buy coffee, spent time cleaning and refilling. And i'm not so sure if it's wise/healthy to reuse the same plastic capsule a lot of times. If there was a metal insert, it'd be a different story…

Edit, seems someone on WP has done the partial math.

I buy my pods for $6 (16), or about 38cents each.
Foil is 4.2 cents each, coffee is about 30 cents each (10gr of coffee beans per cup @$30 per kg bag), ending up on 34.2 cents… there's a time for saving, and i don't think this is it.
