GoPro Hero4 Session $395 @ Pushys eBay

90
CTREAT20

GoPro Hero4 Session Camera at the cheapest I've ever seen.

Video quality is apparently not as good as the Hero4 Silver, but it's a much smaller design and water-proofed without a case. The $579 RRP at launch a couple months ago is completely delusional; but minus the 20% discount, it's now a much more palatable $395.

Don't forget 2.5% cashback via Cashrewards which will bring the price down further

  • hero4 Silver is around the same price. not too sure which one to buy.

additionally, can someone recommend if the hero4 black that much better for the $100 price difference.

    • Here's a good comparison table. Most of the camera settings are stepped up by one setting (i.e. 120fps@1080p compared to 60fps@1080p). Most of the functionality is the same though.
I have the silver and haven't (yet) found a reason to regret not getting the black. I've spent nearly $100 on different mounts though - that's money well spent!

can you recommend a pole? i am looking at the below pole from Pushys ebay store. is that worth the money?

Not worth it. Ditto with (most) official accessories. The difference in quality between that and a cheap, $10 Chinese pole is negligible. Plenty of people even McGuyver their own DIY poles using the freebie plastic mount the GoPro is connected to in the packaging, and PVC pipe. Spend on accessories where you'll actually notice the extra money spent, like SD cards.

      • Session is smallest, water-proofing standard, best mics.
      • Silver has better video quality than Session, LCD touchscreen and removable battery.
      • Black is most expensive, has no LCD screen but best video quality.

Black has the most shooting modes like 4K@30 but most people won't shoot like that (it destroys battery, and files are huge). Silver and Session both hit the 1080@60 sweet spot, but Silver generally better video quality. Biggest advantage of the Session is its small body, meaning it can be mounted very easily (no awkward elbows on side mounts), and has low drag. Also note the Session has no removable battery and must be charged as-is, unlike the others which can be swapped in the field; but it does charge via micro-USB unlike mini-USB for the others.

      • thanks guys. didn't realise black doesn't have LCD screen.

  • They've increased the price 😕
