3pk Dunlop Sport MAX Squash Balls (Blue/Beginner) for $1.01 @ Kmart

221

By popular demand from http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/20906 :) …

These are the squash balls in question: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002O3DD32 and they’re currently on clearance at the local Kmart here in Townsville. In all liklihood, this may apply to the rest of everywhere else, providing that your local store has stock etc etc.

This is a very much ‘try-and-see’ deal as I just stumbled across these.

From the package/Amazon.co.uk: DUNLOP MAX BALL: Ideal for beginner players to develop correct technique with an easy to use ball that is 12% larger than the standard size and has a 40% longer hang-time compared to the Pro ball.

So, they're for beginners and they mightn't suit all the squash players out there. Still, I've got some use for it and I can't complain for a dollar (and 1 cent).

EDIT: Ignore the circle in the receipt image. Same receipt from my other recent deal and I over-wrote my original photo.

  • Probably won't work at other Kmarts. P1 and the price 1.01 indicate the item was marked down for being 'soiled and damaged', though try your luck and see what you find.

    • My thoughts as well but never hurts to try. I did see Kmart were clearance-ing all their squash balls so maybe this was part of that.

    • The squash balls seem to be 'P3'. Any ideas on what that means?

This is the only time you'd want blue balls

  • I doubt my kmart stocks them but ill check later on

Sorry, but this won't work at other K-Marts. The P3 indicates that the checkout operator had to change the price themselves (ie the price is not in their computer system), probably due to a yellow sticker on the tag which would have been put there by the leisure manager indicating that the item is in the 'end of range'. If the item was on nation wide clearance, the price would be changed on the system and the operator would not have to override it manually.

An individual S&D product might be a good bargain for one person, but nobody else is going to be able to get it.

mad, got price match at my local sports store :-)

    • Win :) How'd you swing that one?

  • I play squash, and use those balls sometimes (they bounce a fair bit higher than the balls used in competition). That's an amazing deal - they're $3.50 EACH at rebel sport!
