Coopers Sparkling Ale 2 Cartons for $82 @ First Choice - Unley, SA

380

Best price I've seen for a long time on Coopers Sparkling Ale. Can't find any info on this special on the First choice website so it may just be an instore promo at the Unley (SA) store only. Scanned at $51 per carton but the operator manually overode the price after he checked the advertised signage in the coolroom.

Update : Appears it was a labelling error as the price in store now listed as $51. The Budwieser is 2 for $82 now

yeah it was $5 cheaper than 2 cartons of Pale Ale which was on special also. A bit odd but I didn't complain

Can anyone confirm if this is elsewhere?

Dan Murphys should price match this surely?

    • Competitors’ premises must be within 10km of our store.

Might violate a few of their other conditions too if it's only the 1 store who's doing it.

Just had it "lowest price guaranteed" at Dan Murphy's (within 10 kms) $81
    Win! Thanks OP

  • Amazing price!

  • is this the coopers your suppose to roll or turn the bottle upside down before opening.

That's 'pale ale', coopers green labeled variety.
Sparkling ale, red label, is good to go.

The sparkling ale is the one you roll. Awesome beer.

        • I'll hand in my badge.
I stand corrected, I was taught its good to go, turnss out coopers reccomend you 'gently rock' sparkling side to side! (on their website) while pale ale you roll.

        • @sigh: Every time I've ordered the sparkling at a bar they roll it, never thought to look at the website, have had many people try and return coopers sparkling due to the sediment.

        • @Soluble: the best thing about cooper is the 'best after' date as its a bottle fermenting beer, hence the sediment, there isn't anywhere near as much in sparklimg compare to pale from my experience. People just don't realise or haven't been informed about it.
I'm now a better person for understanding my coopers that little bit better today!

      • if you want to drink a bunch of yeast, then roll it. I'm a no roll guy these days. I occasionally harvest this yeast to make homebrew beer with that fruity coopers taste however.

    • no, you're supposed to shake it vigorously before opening. try it next time.

  • Damn that's a great price. I will check if this is at my local first choice tomorrow morning.

  • It's a ticketing mistake. Someone has put the Budweiser ticket where the coopers description I.

    • That employee should be fired immediately. Not for causing First Choice to potentially lose money, but for mixing up Budweiser and Coopers.

      • Honest mistake, they happen at 5 or 6am when you have 3500 tickets to put out! I'm actually surprised it's still up. Would have been up since wednesday

Pity I won't buy it anymore as it's halal.

    • its vegan friendly beer and have been for years (actually a lot of beers are especially if made under 'purity laws'), that means its usually only a certification away from being halal if anything is vegan friendly.
