  • Say NO to Sodastream

    http://sodastreamboycott.org/

    • Are you one of these that boycotts businesses when they go Halal as well?

    • You know Apple is known to pay it's factory workers stuff all, and make them work long hours?

But you know, feel free to stay in your bubble :)

Hi, Not that it's any of your business but I found that iPhone on a train and handed it to the Cops, 3 months later it was mine and I sold it on eBay for much more than was offered here ($770), anything else you want to insinuate or are you going to get the JDL onto me?

        • Yep, that whatever piece of technology you're using right now to access the internet was made by some poor guy working long hours and getting paid pittance. And likely the same with the clothes on your back.

        • That poor guy who made my clothes didn't shoot white phosphorus in broad daylight against defenceless women and children and saying killing over half a million children was worth the price of 'defending' themselves.

        • @dannyhc:

And the country you're from hasn't been involved in a World War? Or pre-dating that, never been involved in conflict? Hell even cavemen would've killed women and children.

And again, the car you drive, the phone you use, has likely been made by a country that has bombed someone else, killing innocent people.

          Don't be so narrow-minded.

        • +1

I think his insinuation was, and I maybe embellishing it somewhat; unless you're a 100% vegan, Daoist monk who lives in a mountain monastery and eats nothing but Kale; we're all helping to kill the Third World by virtue of living in the First World.

SodaStream and Apple boycotts are a really just a smokescreen for the much deeper and disturbing issue of our entire way of life and the organising principles of our societies being incredibly wrong.

Sure you might avoid SodaStream and do some marginal good by that; but I'll bet your shopping list has plenty else on it that's causing untold suffering to people in disadvantaged areas of the world.

Not that you yourself are a bad person for bringing this up but this subject has been covered extensively in previous Sodastream deals. I don't see the point of another epic flamewar over this.

Disclosure: I'm no fan of Israel/Zionists/Jewish lobbies (see my posts in the linked deals) but I am able to recognise when the horse has not only been beaten to death but blown into low-Earth orbit. Some of us are going to root for one side regardless of how many differing opinions are held on the Internet; hence these discussion will go nowhere, that has been conclusively established.

    • Lol, Funny when I searched boycott women it came up with this:

"Bonus cola & lemonade syrup best before: 1st August 2015"

So you get a bonus that is out of date?

    • Eh, it's a best before, and it's nearly pure sugar. But I still highlighted those facts so people were aware.

      • Wasn't criticising, just thought it was amusing that it was out of date…

        • I know all good :)

        • @Spackbace:
I found some syrups at Big W that had a date of June 2015

        • @Crownie:

          Popular ;)

@Crownie: Big W. More like Big jeW. Boycott Big W!

  • Country of origin: Israel

That's incorrect. SodaStream is not made in Israel, it's made in occupied Palestine.
In most countries, SodaStream falsely labels its products as "Made in Israel" despite its main production facility being located in Mishor Edomin, an illegal settlement in the Israeli occupied West Bank. That's why SodaStream is subject to international boycott.

In the USA, SodaStream has recently been forced to correct their labelling lies, thanks to Oregon's Fair Trade Practices Act.

In addition to the false labelling issues, SodaStream profits from operating in an illegal settlement in violation of international law. Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention (1949) states:

"The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies."

So far 17 nations of the European Union (EU) have warned their citizens to refrain from engaging in business, economic activity and investment in illegal Israeli settlements or bodies connected to the settlements.

Too many people on the soapbox. Give it up and take it to the forums. It's a carbonating device ffs.

  • If they had a bundy rum favour would buy one

  • Deal may be ok, but IMO the 'Naturals' cordials are not great. I rate them two dogs.

    • I rate them two dogs.

      Out of 5 dogs?

Got my SodaStream today. Came direct from SodaStream.
Was surprised that the 2 syrups were still in date -November 4th 2015
And got Cherry Cola and something else.
Now to stock up on Target Syrup at 3 for $10 :)

    • Same here, syrups not expired and delivered in advance of the suggested date. Nice one. I will give some of it a try and then stop by target if they're any good.
