Buy 3 Continental Tyres, Get 1 Free

190

Seems like a good deal. I'm looking at getting the C MAX 5 which have decent reviews online.

I recommend reading http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre-Size/ for reviews.

  • Did you just see the ad on tv too? :)

    • No! I contacted Bob Jane for quotes and they told me about this promo.

Ah OK. Good deal. Nice work.

  • Good deal and tempting. Just as my ContiSportContact 5Ps are wearing down and I'm shopping for new PilotSuperSports…

How much are the tyres though?

Not much of a bargain if you can buy 4 tyres for less elsewhere…

I was just starting to research tyres as my Lancer will be due for a new set very soon. The Continental ContiComfort Contact tyres from what I have read are supposed to be fairly quiet which is a bonus for my 09 Lancer considering how noisy it is.

In case it's any help, I just replaced tyres on my 09 Lancer (ES) last month. So far I've gone through:

      • Yokohama Advan A-460: these were the factory tyres, and got to about 27k before the front left tyre had balded to the point of steel wire showing through.
      • Dunlop Fast Response: these were the ones my local Beaurepaires place recommended. Also lasted about 27k before needing replacement.

After these first two sets I figured I should take more proactive care of my tyres, mainly by regularly checking/topping up pressure etc, which I hardly did before. I next went with a set of Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max tyres. These lasted about 50k, and I have replaced them with Goodyear Optilife tyres from Kmart Tyre & Auto, which come with a 50k treadwear guarantee. Their normal price is $157/corner but I paid $135 thanks to their tyre price guarantee, and will get free rotate and balance every 10k up to 50k. I've read some reviews that say these are noisy, but to me they don't sound all that different to other tyres I've had, i.e. it's not something I've particularly noticed.

      • Thanks for the detailed response quop. I generally have no idea when it comes to tyres. I'm not likely to do more than 15,000 in the next 4-5 years as our lancer is now a run-about rather than the primary family car. I'm just happy it isn't the VR-X model with 18" rims!

  • Well f**k. Just bought a set of Michelin PS3s last weekend

    • any deals atm for PS3s?

      • Not that I know of. There was a little sale that seems to have ended. I saved $4 bucks a corner it seems hah.

Looking at the Bob Jane catalogue, they had deals for 4 sizes of PS3s, whereas they only have one now.

  • I found www.tyresales.com.au to give decent prices from a range of different tyre fitting centres nationally. They are also offering the 4 for the price of 3 deal on selected Bridgestone, Pirelli, Yokohama, BFGoodrich and Continental. You can book it all online too.

  • They don't import half of their best models. I'm left importing myself. Save much more than this :(

  • Normally I would not give a continental.

This is a great lead in to get the same deal with other brands!

Just called Kmart tyre and auto asking if they are doing this deal, knowing full well they don't.

The guy offered to give me the same deal on 4 x Kumho KU39s. Ended up getting 4 Kumho's + alignment for $530.

Fantastic deal; they are $189 each on tyreplus. Bob Jane basically refused to price beat them, way under their cost.
