Oh no no no no!!! Stop it!!!

  • How about a GTX 980Ti deal

    • Currently don't have any "amazing" prices other than our standard website prices. But keep posted here as there are many more sweet prices to arrive.

This was the first ever video card I purchased. Cost about $400 at the time from memory. Had a beastly 6MB of ram.

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/3d-accelerator-card-revi…

Was running it on a horrible machine but it gave it a bit of life.

How quickly times have changed! Especially with some of the higher end cards starting to pack 12GB of RAM..

    • What?
IT only has 3.5 GB + 0.5 GB (slower speed) of DRAM.

      3dfx Voodoo High five!

I had a Monster 3D my cousin bought from the US for me because it was only $300 there and not $400.

It was pretty sweet. But then it died, and I never managed to send it back for warranty :(

      • It was a toss up between the PURE 3d and the monster card at the time. The TV out sold it and I think the pure3d had more ram.

        • That's right! The Canopus was considered the premium card as it had more RAM.

Thank goodness the days are gone when GPUs (3D Accelerator Cards, I think we usually called them, then) needed a special analog output or they couldn't connect to a TV…

    Isn't this basically MSY price?

    • +2

Stock is shipped to your door for this price. So you don't even need to leave the house.

what is this free game you speak of

The 960, 970 and 980 have decent hevc encoders that are supported in ffmpeg.

MSY may not be great, but I would put them above Megabuy for reliability. Don't take my word for it. Have a look at this thread:
    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1691430

Msy has cheaper 4gb cards, and if you are an enthusiast, you know you can OC your car yourself.
Megabuy may post for free, but they have a reputation as a drop shipper, so unless the rep can guarantee they are in their warehouse (and a delivery timeframe) you maybe waiting a while.

    No deal for me.

      Dodgy dodgy dodgy!

Have a look at megabuy's past deals before considering saving a few bucks here.

    wow.
such an average card for 500$

does not even have the memory bandwidth of a 3 year old ATI 7950.

thanks for the negs in advance :)

    • I've been using it for 1 year. Smashes all the triple A games I play. Most people don't use 90%+ of their video memory so it's okay. High MEmory bandwidth is only good for power users like 4k gamers and video editors.

I got it for $438 AUD from Amazon in October last year.

No deal. Got this card from eBay for $430 posted during 20% deal. Great card though!

Yeah, drop it more or no deal for me lol

Wish I could drop the price on this one, though with the exchange rate and current price of stock in Australia it's the cheapest stock you will find in Australia that isn't grey imported.

  • Hi guys is this video card better than the MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card ?

    • I stand to be corrected but the usual differences are in base clock speeds for cpu and memory, and overclocking ability. The gpu should be essentially identical, with different cooling solutions I would be surprised if there was more than 5% between them.
      Also
      http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2345099/msi-twin-froz…

And think about an investment this large and warranty with megabuy. I would only buy something from them if I either didn't care about warranty or I could rma direct to manufacturer (possibly overseas, you pay postage).

      • One main difference is the STRIX card doesn't turn it's fans on until 60 degrees. Which I believe the Twin Frozr doesn't.
