Brunnings 5L Glyphosate 360 Weed Kill at Bunnings for $39.88

11

Thought this was a good price. Normally pay about $10.00 a litre. Had my nearest store set a Morayfield QLD.

  • Normal price? Or is this on sale?

It's a little bit cheaper than buying 1L because you're buying in bulk. For my small-ish garden I go through a 1L bottle of 360 in 2-3 years so it would only make sense to buy this much concentrate for big gardens.

Can't say I have seen this product at Bunnings in 5L form before. I use a bit on my 2 acres.

  • +2

    Not a deal

  • I'm steering clear of this stuff (Glyphosate) from now on - it's been labelled as a carcinogen in a lot of places recently.

    • +4

      Credible source?

    • +1

yep, classified as Group 2A carcinogen "probably carcinogenic in humans"

      Same as things like
Art glass, glass containers, and press ware (manufacture of)
Biomass fuel (primarily wood), emissions from household combustion
      Frying, emissions from high-temperature
Hairdresser or barber (workplace exposure as)
      Petroleum refining (workplace exposures in)
      Shiftwork that involves circadian disruption

  • +5

It would be best to pay with a credit card, so they don't roundup the price.

    • -3

That would be so good if it was the roundup brand.
      Good effort though

  • +7

Don't buy this, you are paying for water.

    Just buy the concentrated http://www.bunnings.com.au/hortico-1l-all-purpose-weed-kille…

    1 L can makes up to 200 L.

    • I think I need this. Thanks.

      • You will need a garden sprayer.

You can also use this for path even better than those said for path.

        • Yeah, I've used the Hortico 750ml spray bottle before & it worked well. Took about 3 weeks to kill off path weeds.

    • This stuff is excellent. Same ingredients as Roundup but at a fraction of the price

    • +3

This is a 5L concentrate, much like you 1L concentrate. It would therefore make upto 1000L of spray at a cost of $8/ConL vs your $10/ConL

      • FWIW I normally buy in 20L drums for about $5-6/ConL for work. This isn't really a bargain just cheaper price for buying in bulk vs 1L

    • With this stuff always look at the mixture rate per litre. Some are more concentrated than others and represent better value.

    • Can you please explain how this product is any different to the posted one?.

      • -2

        Already said.

Concentrated 1L can makes up to 200L.

        • I have used the Hortico product at the rate required to make up to the 200L. After 2 weeks the weeds looked pretty happy.

        • +3

          @cremmin:
The most common glyphosate concentrate is 360g/L at a rate of 5ml/L (200L from 1L of concentrate) I think it would be pretty ineffective against many weeds. 10ml/L is a much better strength, I normally use at about 15ml/L. All brands of 360g/L should be effective at that rate. There are differing rates of Glyphosate in some concentrates like xywalop mentioned so one with say 180g/L would require twice the amount of concentrate.

        • +3

Only difference is the label, as I have already stated, they are both concentrates.

        • @tryagain:

I agree, 15ml concentration works best! No need to respray either.

    • +1

You need to look at the active ingredient (Glyphosate) on both products to make a fair comparison.

So the OP product is listed as 360g per litre. X 5 litres = 1.8kg of active ingredient for $39.88 or $22.15 per kg of active ingredient.

Your alternative is listed as 360g per litre x 1 litre = 360g of active ingredient for $9.90 or $27.50 per kg of active ingredient.

So assuming someone actually wants 1.8kg of Glyphosate, the OP deal is the better value.

  • +1

Or you could buy 2 litres of vinegar from a supermarket for around a dollar, add some salt, and you have an organic weed killer

    • I doubt that is as effective

    • Does it work??

      • Yes. Some people add detergent etc. You can google it.

  • -5

This stuff in cancerous and banned in other countries. Would seriously think twice using this.

  • -1

This is RRP no deal. The next post will be for a case of coke justifying against the cost of a single can.

    • -2

You mean like all the post's you have made. Oh sorry you have yet make one….

      • Maybe I should find a deal on a box of tissues.
