Saw on today's The Good Guys catalog that Yamaha RX-V479 AV Receiver is going for $599. I couldnt find the item on their website so uploaded a screenshot of the catalog.

  Weird, I asked last week if they had receivers and they don't, wonder if they'll start stocking them…. need a slim line model though.

    The Goodguys I went to dont event stock them. Went to Harvey Norman to price match, and got one for $590 and a free 3m HDMI cable

  I think the Yahama is still a better buy as its got wifi and the normal retail is slightly more then the Onkyo.

    i prefer the button layout of Onkyo.
    3yr warranty.
    met my under $500 price-point.
