Canon 5D Mk III Body Only for $2670.75 after $300 Cashback (Pickup or $9.95 Delivery) @ JB Hi-Fi

170

I commented on this on the original post, thought it may be worth it's own post..

AFAIK, this is the cheapest local price I have seen a 5D MkIII body…Canon is offering $300 cashback for the 5D MkIII bodies, as opposed to $200 in the previous years…

Currently in the market for a new body after my original 5D took a bit of a swim in Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown, was originally going to get a 6D, but may just pay a bit more for the 5D…

Edit - as pointed out by Sebby in the comments, call your local store to find out stock levels, as they are totally different to what is shown online…I did so and managed to find one in Perth, and combined with this 5% coupon, managed to bring the price down to $2522 after cashback..:)

  • Good price!

  • This is definitely very good price. Canon 5D mkIII has been cheaper than this previously, but after the ausi dollar race backward this is best price I have seen for sometime.
One thing to keep in mind is that this camera is due for upgrade and mkIV can be announced any time this year probably.

    • best price by far, but considering it's a 3 yrs old camera, it should be $2K by now.

nearly 4 years old new one around the corner…

  • good price!… considering aus stock.. had mine bought for 3500 when its first released…

wondering why you let your previous 5d to swim =p

Final day in Queenstown, went for a morning shoot, and after I was done, absentmindedly pulled the quick release lever off the tripod whilst it was in an odd angle in shallow waters, and the 5Dc took a dive straight into the lake…fortunately none of the photos were affected, and I did recover some money back from travel insurance, which is sitting around waiting to be spent..:) I still have an old 1D3 body, but I do miss having a FF body…

  • Great price! For anyone wondering the 6D after discount and $200 cashback comes down to $1500.

  • Great price! If only I had $2600 spare…!

  • Bought this new in December 2012 for $2570 (grey import).

Have never seen a cheaper price since, although this would beat it ex-GST.

  • Lot of ozbargainers got 5% ofg code today appling that would bring price down to neer 2500 well that is one of the best local prices

    • So did I, but it was only for in-store only, and there appears to be only 2 JB Hifi stores in the whole of Australia that has it in stock in store, none of which is in Perth..:( I'm still sitting on the fence on this, but if I could've used that 5% discount, that would have tipped me over the edge…

I enquired at the West Lakes, SA store and although they didn't have any stock, their system stock levels of other SA stores were different to what the website was reporting.

Took your advice, called up a store who pointed me to one in Perth city which did have stock of it, so I was able to get the 5D3 and use that additional 5% off, which brings the price down to $2522 after cashback….happy days..:)

        • @Quiexo: Good to hear :)

  • I am torn between this and Sony α7II, Sony seems to be better and cheaper….

    • Yeah if you want to setup for shots, you will need adapters to get good glass, which means loosing auto focus etc. Bottom line is the Sony is not a polished product yet.

  • Cool, this must mean the new models are finally going to be announced soon. THo knowing Canon they will probably drag iot out with a few minor price drops before the camera becomes harder to sell against the new models at those prices.
