  • Advocate 6 pack works out at $67.28.

Subscribe to their newsletter and they send these out every once in a while.

This is what is looked like.

      • nice :)

      • …. when doves cry

  • great timing for advance dry food. comes down to just under $80 for 15KGs with this stacked along with an already discounted price!

    • I have my cats on Optimum but I noticed that my vets are subtlely "hrrrm" when I mention they eat that and that they sell Advance there. I'm just about out of Optimum so it looks like a great time to switch and try it out. Wouldn't have looked if it wasn't for your comment, cheers for mentioning it.

      • The reason your vet is all "hrrrmmm" about Optimum is that it's made by Waltham, the same company that makes Advance. Optimum is marketed as nutritionally balanced with guaranteed analysis - which is good and what you need - but so is Advance. And having a "supermarket" level brand made by the same company that makes Advance, which is supposed to be the "premium" brand, cuts into the vet's profits from selling the food.

I feed my kittens Optimum - I did a fair amount of research when I got these kittens and Optimum is great. Single source protein, no beef, guaranteed analysis, meets AAFCO guidelines, and cheaper - nothing to worry about.

        • …damn it…I was sure Optimum would be good enough! Ah well I hope my guys enjoy their vacation with the 8kg bag of Advance I've bought now, it'll be back to Optimum after that. I was hoping the switch to Advance might help out with some teeth and gum issues they've been having. Thanks for the detailed response.

        • @hetzjagd: If they've got teeth and gum issues, I cannot recommend highly enough the Hill's t/d. I fed my previous cats 1 heaped scoop each (20ml measuring spoon) of Hill's t/d each day and they didn't require any dental work (not even for tartar buildup) until they were over 10yo. But if your cats already have tartar build-up it's best to start with a clean slate - if your vet has recommended a dental it's probably a good idea, and it's certainly better to get it done sooner rather than later, when more problems can occur (such as rotting teeth, etc)

        • @catbrain:

Cheers again for getting back to me. I had one cat just come out of a dental surgery on Friday afternoon and the other one has been put on the Greenies dental cat treats to try and alleviate some mild gingivitis he has developed recently. I don't get why their dental health is so bad in one and not so great with the other given the relative quality of their diet (Optimum dry food during the day, half a 85g tin of fancy feast for dinner)- both cats ~7 years 5 months old

  • Thanks OP, bought some dry cat food. Much cheaper than the store with free shipping to boot.

Not a bad deal if products are already on sale and that's an additional 20% off. Otherwise Petbarn is generally 20 to 30% more expensive than other online shops. Went this morning and bought stuff for my dog for a total of $110 instead of $166. Just asked them to match prices from budgetpetproducts and they did as per their price match policy.

  • I just got $120 of "cats in the kitchen" & "BFF" for $45. Pretty happy about that.

  • thanks OP. just ordered 2 bags of advance dry food for our dog.

  • Thanks op, got 48 cans of fancy feast and an 8kg bag of Advance Adult Cat dry food for $102.10 delivered

    • aaaand woolworths is now having a sale including fance feast at 61c a can this week…can't win them all
