I found some incredible fares on Qantas to USA. Flights are departing Brisbane, but for these prices you can catch a Jetstar flight to Brisbane and still fly to Los Angeles for less than $1000.

Brisbane to Los Angeles $892 on Qantas. Nov/Dec

Brisbane to Las Vegas $906. Qantas for Bris->LAX, American Airlines LAX->Las Vegas. Nov

Fiights to Brisbane. Domestic flights to Brisbane.

From other Cities (not really part of the deal, but for completeness):
Melbourne to Los Angeles Qantas for $1154 Oct/Nov/Dec (or Air NZ for $1022)

          That sucks, I got mine before the qualifying final.
          Try buying a flight to Sydney then getting the free flight from sydney to melbourne, should still save you a heap.

    Looking for cheap flights Sydney to Chicago. Just seems that these deals with a separate domestic ticket from Los Angeles are cheaper than on the same itinerary but I know the catch will be additional baggage costs for booking separate flights. Anything you can help with?

      Next time there is a deal to NYC, try searching to Chicago on the same dates that have the cheap flights to NYC. Often it is not just NYC that has cheap flights, but surrounding airports as well.

    Finding it almost impossible to find any nov/dec fares for under $1000 ex Bris…

    looking after 20nov for 2 weeks for LAX but just about every date i put in is coming back around $1100 and not on qantas :S

      There is definitely limited dates with this deal. It isn't advertised anywhere on the Qantas site. Here are some dates:

    I've been looking for cheap flights from melb to the USA over Christmas. Seems like all the cheap airNZ flights don't exist.
    I've booked a few with bestjet only for them to be cancelled.. But all the cheap flights are still advertised.
    Apparently there's an issue with airNZs third party bookings.
    Anyone else had luck?

    I have been looking at flights to LA from MEL recently and the best I got was during the past weekend with Air NZ from 13 Jan to 31 Jan 16 for $992.00 per person, which I thought were great prices but just couldn't go over those dates. I thought those were good prices for that period of time.Alas, the prices are not available any more.

    Any one way flight availble cheap? Either from Sydney or Brisbane to LA. Cheapest I'm seeing is ~$920 one-way.
