I decided against waiting for a 1TB Xbox and instead ran with a 500GB one + 2TB HDD. You can pull out the external drive and take it to a friends place.

    • Exactly this - i got a 1TB laptop portable drive for $60 and its perfect.

  • I'm hoping for a good kinect deal post x-mas :) Don't wanna jump on a non-kinect deal and then decide I want it down the track :/
I know, it'll hardly get used, but at least it's there right…right?!

    • Eh. It's cool for some things, like living room skype and voice chat without a headset, but honestly it is a waste of money. I did think it was handy for signing in without putting in my password (face recognition), but I just changed my settings to sign in automatically haha.

If you really want 1TB, then I'd also consider this bundle from M$ themselves: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msaus/en_AU/pdp/1TB-Xbox… for $549 with the extra controller, TV tuner & XBLive Gold 3m.

  • I'd just get a 500gb then buy an external HDD. At the rate my 500gb has filled up I doubt a 1tb is worth the extra money (vs, for example, buying an external 2tb hdd).
I just purchased a 5TB external seagate from The Good Guys for $229 as part of the $50 ebay voucher sale, although I haven't picked it up yet so I can't verify how seamless it is connecting an external.

  • Thanks folks, good advice. Went to EB games and got the 500gb fifa bundle, not a bargain but my teenager is happy.

  • With a usb 3 external hdd you may also see the benefit of faster loading times for games stored on it.

  • Ok cool, good to know!
