  • Great deal. Bought one. Cheers

    • +2

      You mean two?

      • I stand corrected.

  • Ordered! Thanks Rep!

  • Thanks rep :) hoping these have a bit more strength than the china ebay ones (phone almost holds but in this case thats not enough).

    • +1

I've seen online videos where they put a thin disc of metal between the phone and case giving the magnet more to hold on to

      • +1

Unfortunately I did that and even then the phone kept sliding off :( but keeping in mind that is with the china version of this mount.

      • These logitech ones come with a metal plate… Are you talking about additional plate or…?

        • Cool. That's handy.

In one video, a guy cut a plate out of a can. Can't recall what the others did. (Stoopid memory.)

I doubt more than one plate would help much more

        • @surethang:
Not sure how that would work. Cans are aluminium and as such, are not magnetic.

Anyways, there are two square plates (34x34mm) (rounded corners), with an adhesive backing which can be used to stick onto your device. But as others have suggested, and how i do it is just slip it in-between the phone and a hard case, and it doesn't move about.

        • +1

@ATangk: Maybe it was a food can rather than a beverage can. The pop-top lid off a small can of tuna is halfway there in terms of size.

        • @eug:
Yep haha, realised after I commented =]

  • good deal! thanks!

  • Just what i needed. Thanks! :)

  • Bought one from dickies a while back, love it to bits

  • Have been trying to buy it but after adding in cart it goes back to the main page - could be ozbargained :/

Would love to buy it rep…..

    • The website is running very slow but I just managed to register and place an order.

    • I bought after you posted this. Was slow but I made it to the end

    • most of the time this will be javascript not enabled in the browser or corporate vpn blocking something on our site. Also our load is very high at the moment (Higher than we expected so it is a bit slow.)

      • +1

In the end I went to my phone ordered paid via paypal and then said - cannot order more than 1. The IT gods says this is not for me :)

Great deal - look forward to more offers.

  • Best price so far for two! Thanks got two.

  • Hm anyone used Kenu one (more expensive, I know) and this one for a comparison?

I assume using this one means you'll have a magnet stick to your back of your phone/case all the time?

    • If it's like the windscreen mount, the magnet is actually in the mount. There's just a little (30mm x 30mm) metal plate you stick to your phone that the magnet grabs.

I've just slipped the plate between the phone and a generic silicon case, instead of sticking it to the phone. Works a treat, the case holds the plate in place very well.

As for the quality, very good. I've never had the phone detach from the mount. Recommended.

what I do too its fantastic and nothing in your line of vision on the car. :-)

  • I don't have this exact brand or model, I have the cheaper ebay knock offs. The problem I faced with them is that while the phone holds to the magnet fine, the weight of the phone is enough to pull down the vent making the screen difficult to see. Maybe just an issue for older cars like mine (1999 model)?

    • Nah, i had similiar problems. For big phones they are just impractical and dont really work. I looked at the Idrive mount but i asked myself if i really want to spend $50 on piece of plastic when i can just use the cup holder to store my phone.

  • worked on my phone, but not on my computer.

  • The thing I hate about this one is you have to stick something to the back of your phone..

  • Been looking out for one of these, thanks OP!

  • Placed an order, paying via direct deposit. Got the order number, but haven't received any emails or instructions on how to pay. Server getting hammered?

    • probably once we enter the order in our internal system we will send you an email again with the details.

  • Does the magnet impact or distort the GPS signal?

    • haven't had any issues on the two phones i have used it on

    • I've had no issues using the windscreen version with a nexus 5

  • Anyone compares this to a Steelie mount?

  • I am not too sure I am understanding. Why does a mobile phone need to get vented? Does it overheat?

    • +2

This mount just attaches to the car vent so it isn't stuck to your window or otherwise. I think it looks neater having it mounted on the vent rather than on the window or dash, but yes, it will block / utilise the vent (may get really warm in winter).

      • But isn't it annoying having an air vent covered with your phone? I know in Queensland in summer I want all my vents pointing towards me.

        • I suppose it depends on whether or not you'll have other people in your car. I have a different kind of mount that also sits in front of my vent and it hasn't bothered me so far, as I still have the vent on the right side and the passenger vent.

        • @eug:

As eug has said, depends on whether there's other people in the car. Also if it does get too hot in summer, the mount itself doesn't block all air (big bigger than a 50c?) so could put the phone elsewhere in that case :)

      • Its good because the phone usually heats up from gps and sun, the vent point towards the phone would keep the phone cool.

    • As frogduck has said but also Electronics do run more effiently and "last longer" (but we probably upgrade phones before they fail)

Just missed out on this deal. so bummed out!

  • After 20' fighting through the site being ozbargained, finally managed to registered and place my order, sweet deal, thanks rep. Hopefully I can pick up later in the afternoon.

  • -1

That was a great waste of time.

  • Missed out :( Added 2 to cart and applied code, but wouldn't let me check out because it registered as 4 items. Removed one and it still wouldnt check out. Site was so slow I couldn't redo the process before it ran out of stock

  • Was trying for ages to get through, and then it was sold out! Bummed! :(

If anyone in Melbourne wants to share the love and sell their second one for $10, let me know! :)

  • For future reference when these inevitably come up again, how will this go with my Note5 with S-View case? If I take the phone out does the magnet just stick to the metal of the actual phone?

  • A generic version is a few bux on eBay.

  • does anyone have ideas of where to get, or how to DIY, an extra magnetic piece without having to buy a whole new set?

    • If you mean the piece that attaches to the phone, that's just a metal plate I believe. If you purchase the cheap ones from ebay they also come with the metal plate. In terms of quality, I'm not too sure the difference between the two.

      • yup, thanks mate—the metal plate is what i meant. getting a cheap one from ebay is my backup plan, but i was hoping to find a more tightarse way around it, as i only need the darn metal plate.

        • +1

There is free way, do you know the free calander or business information that has magnetic pice to attache to the fridge? It works very well. They usually give them away in the mail boxes.

If you have one around just glue it into your phone case and will be good to go.

        • @msmhw: thanks mate!!! i'll give that a go! :)))

  • Damn, I had finished the paypal checkout and everything and it rejected me :(

Guess i'll wait till the next sale.

  • +1

More next time please rep. :(

  • Harvey norman have em for $26, however you can price match JB HiFi and get that price :) that's what I did!

    Mount works great!

    • Harvey Norman/JB will give you 2 of these mounts for $20?

  • +2

Dammit, I missed it. Put me down for the second round!

  • More please!! I got two of the suction cap ones from Shopping Express and works brilliantly! I want the air vent one for my other car..

  • just received mine .. tested it last night… if i place the metal behind my phone cover, its too weak to hold the phone.

it might be good if i stick the metal to the back of the cover, but whats the point? it would look ugly.

this thing doesnt work as described.

    i have a note 4.

    • What case do you have? I may be in for the same issue :(

      • +1

I have the official samsung note 4 case

        • Ah alright, not looking good for me then, thanks for the info!

  • Received mine, works great behind the case on my S4
