FREE HD Movie Rental: Batman: Under the Red Hood @ Microsoft

BATMAN faces his ultimate challenge as the mysterious Red Hood takes GOTHAM CITY by firestorm. One part vigilante, one part criminal kingpin, Red Hood begins cleaning up GOTHAM with the efficiency of BATMAN, but without following the same ethical code. Killing is an option. And when THE JOKER falls in the balance between the two, hard truths are revealed and old wounds are reopened.

  • When you rent, the viewing period is 14 days from the time of your order or 24 hours from the time you start to watch, whichever comes first.

  • It says $7.99 when I click through. Edit - I left the site up and it switched to free. Go figure.

  • Thanks. I grabbed it on the website, however I can't find it on my xbox one. Can someone please help.

  • Was it any hood?

    • I've watched UtRH before and fully recommend it.

100% rating on rotten tomatoes if you still have any doubts. :)

  • I thought I'd give it a go … on my Macbook Pro on the WiFi network here at home.
I logged in with my 'work' MS identity in a Safari Tab and, lo and behold, the movie began playing seconds later.
    Thanks, Trent 86.

(I stopped it as I'm watching 'Insiders' on ABC-TV at the moment. Comments say 'must be watched or forfeited in 13 days, 23 hours and nine minutes.')

  • It uses Silver light and IE for Win7

  • I have it on Blu-Ray. Pretty good.

I think the expiry time on unwatched rentals is kind of dumb. Perhaps after it is first played it could have an expiry.

  • I have given up trying to get this. I have tried IE, Edge, Firefox, Safari and when I click Watch now it gives me an error after opening Movies and TV "We can't take you there"

  • +1

I can't get this to work. I rented it the other week but now I'm trying to watch it. I've tried two windows 8.1 and one windows 10 machine. All of them open the video app and then show me my rentals - which is empty. No matter how much I try I can't get it to show up in windows yet when I use the same account on the website I can see the rental with 3 days left.

I got an error code in windows 10 which indicated it might be due to region locking and I changed my region back and forward from us to aus but nothing has changed. Bloody microsoft :(

    • Same for me. Been trying on and off for weeks…

      • I got it working in the end. I tried a vpn first and after messing around it still didn't work until I tried it under IE on my 8.1 system (IE on the windows 10 system just didn't work)

The catch is now that the microsoft video store seems to have disappeared for aussie customers unless you log in and use this link to access the already rented film (I was able to access the store from a us vpn) https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/movies-and-tv/mylibrar…

Anyway, I'm finally going to watch it now but it's been a massive run around. The pile of crap even insisted I unplug my second monitor since it wasn't HDCP compliant :/

edit: oh my god it's like microsoft hates the idea of people buying videos from them. With a trial like this it's a wonder if they'll sell any. I've managed to get 8 minutes play time each time before it stops my video and tells me that I'm playing it on multiple devices (which I'm definitely not). Then I have to reload it and try to scan to the point it missed. It helps that I'm pretty sure by now that I've seen this before.
