How much did you spend during CLICK15?

I defiantly spent more than I would normally and used it as an opportunity to grab new tech (tablet, GoPro) that won't have any discounts applied for a while (read: probably about a month).

Anyone get any unusually good deals?

All they would have to do is sort all transactions that used the CLICK15 code to get that data, not post on a forum!

      • True that

        • That might not tell them how many knew and still didn't give-in ;-p
Or if they spent more than they would have..

  • +3

$0 coz i'm poor at the moment but my wife is still buying $80 pillows

Wanted gold, but didn't go for it.

LG G4 was tempting, but thought maybe wait for a good priced Note 5 or something else.

PS4 version of Lego Dimensions sold out before I finished contemplating.

The SSD drives had a nice price, but will wait until the 1TB falls even more.

The smaller 128GB USB had me interested, and some micro SD cards, but didn't take the bait.

Dick Smith was tempting with its 30% off, 4TB drive was almost good value, but the 5TB had been cheaper before.

    So, $0 for me.

    • Sounds like you will be waiting forever. Why didn't you buy the 5TB when it was cheaper before? ;) I bet you said "it might be cheaper in the future!"

Don't worry, I've done it plenty of times.

      • It was sold out when I checked the site, otherwise I would have been all over it.

If it's a great price, I'll jump on it, but atm these things are nice to have.

        • Thought you got the money since you own every Nintendo console and game handheld ever existed. Got money for Wii U but not these come on man….be honest

        • +2

          @neonlight:

How often does new gaming consoles come into the market? About 3-4 years? Costing between $350-$400. Average spend on a Nintendo game is about $45.

They don't exactly break the bank when you spread the purchases out between 7-10 years do they?

But when you combined the above in one purchase, in one day, that's a hell of a lot of money.

          Always been honest.

I bought some studio lights from china for $400, now the seller is asking for additional money for postage!

  • +1

$0 up until this point, but it's still running & today is pay day, three things sitting in my cart will probably not survive the day!

While it's good to save money, it's also crazy to miss buying necessities during offers like this 😁

    • what items?

      • Mostly supplements & maybe a pair of Bluetooth Headphones

Can provide links if you are really interested.

Most of the thing I bought I've been eyeing off (already carted too), and I did actually need them at some stage.
Probably could of done without the phone, but god 16GB aint cutting it no more.

  • 400 smackers. Samsung ssd thanks to TA and a few projector lamps. oh and 90 bucks for the Logitech 6 something speakers at tricky dickies. $490 all up.

  • Out of the loop. What is/was click15?

    • Go to the front page.

Just turned on the "allow changing vote" option. I voted $0 yesterday when the poll was first posted. A few minutes ago, after a few "Add to Cart", I am now $500 poorer.

    • Yeah, I just had to dust off the missus's account to buy a $300 BBQ so had to move mine to the next category.

It's good to be the king.

    • Thanks Scotty. Changed mine from $500 to $1100 poorer now. So you finally bought the G4 retiring your N4:)

  • Bought roof racks, tray, roof bag discounted by supercheapauto + click15

    • how much are roof racks these days? (and for what vehicle did you get them for?)

    • Bought Roof racks from a shop in Vic, had a discount of 20% already, then click15 - Prorack whispbars.

  • Just in the nick of time :P

    Bought a GTX 970 G1 and a 1TB 850 EVO. Just under $900 which suddenly sounds like a lot.

Now if I can find a Z170 UD5 in stock I can get the processor and ram for my build..

  • Just spent $50 tonight. Last minute deal. ;-)

  • about 6 months worth of brewing supplies. Saved $100 with code, then maybe another $50 saved in postage by buying in bulk, rather than in multiple orders over the period

Bought Oppo R7 Plus from Dicky and wireless AC card. Very happy with the savings.

    • +1

Why the negged votes? It's because you can't get in early and missed the deal?

  • My calculator tells me I spent $2247 over multiple transactions / accounts, after discount, before cash rewards. Mostly PC components I was looking to buy anyway that just happened to work out cheaper than anywhere else (probably 5 to 7% saving once ebay inflation is factored in).

Best buy was probably a new 6600K for $298 delivered.

  • Just had to update mine as i ended up buying a $300 used tablet and tonight a samsung washing machine for $457

  • I spent 3450

  • +1

Spent about $650 to try and get to $666 for maxing $100 discount.

Bought LG G4 and some other random accessories etc

Sold my LG G3 got an OK price for it during the sale as well.

  • Bought two baofeng uv-5r for $67

  • Korg SP-170S digital piano with wooden stand $543 (after $94 saving). Haggled on phone for free headphones too.

  • Went for a Oneplus One ($386), the G4 was tempting but the current lack of developer support (Roms, Kernels) would just frustrate the living day light out of me.

    • +1

I got a G4 cause my wife stole my OPO. Hoping to make her switch with me but the G4 looks very promising too. I might just stick with it.

      • Just hoping none of the Quality Control issues pop up

  • I understand the sale was to attract and retain existing customers to their door step and maybe to lure new ones. But in all honesty, irrespective of being a frequent visitor (not a so frequent buyer though), I actually didn't like the feeling that even though there is 15% discount, I actually had nothing to buy… or in other words, there wasn't anything interesting that eBay could offer me..

I tried at-least 5 times searching for "stuff" during this sale.. Ended up just using my previous $50 that was to expire last night. tell you this, I even struggled to spend the free $50.

Maybe its just one of those days when you don't feel the urge to buy.. or maybe its eBay.. or both.. Don't know. But the effect of this sale on me has been a bit negative.

    Spent = $0

    Cheers!

I got distracted with other things in my life, forgot to order, so spent $0

  • Did anyone check Paypal? I seemed to get the 15% off price during checkout but somehow in my Paypal account full charge was debited.

    • Yeah the paypal amount gets "credited" to your account prior to the purchase - check the payment breakup. It'll be 85% you, 15% paypal.

    • expand the transaction, you will see it is made up of 15% click15 payment and 85% your money.

  • Wasn't going to buy anything but the Samsung front loader for $421 pickup was too good of a deal to knock back. Thanks holden93

  • +1

FFS I always do this !#@!@&# I leave everything to the last minute and I missed out on some deals. I actually purchase the items, went through paypal, click pay but then i got an error saying the "coupon code" was not valid.. This was around 11.58pm. Yeah my life is like that from school to adulthood. Fail

Here's my click15 story: I had been meaning to upgrade from Galaxy Note2 to S5 for the last few weeks, but couldn't justify the purchase as my phone was still doing okay. S5 is obviously the cheaper albeit older alternative to the S6 (couldn't justify the cost of that either).

Conveniently during the click15 period, my Note2 charger port fried itself to death and now I can't turn it on. With a $100 saving, I'm waiting for my S6 to arrive on my doorstep.

Ah, what better sign to take advantage of a deal. #ozbargain4lyf

nwo that we got the $50 voucher…what to buy next? lol

  • +1

Spent about $400 on batteries and car parts which don't come on special much at all.

  • spent $1322 on DSE "30% off" but did not buy anything from click15

  • I put a bid on a item but was out bided :( It was around $200.

The next day I was going to buy something else but instead the offer said it was for ANZ reward points…..

Anyway the PayPal offer was very good, just didn't really have a chance to find something good second hand to buy.

It is a strange offer, my only reasoning for it I can think of is that Ebay is separating the Paypal business and may want to sell it in a few months, trying to give it more revenue to make it look like it is still growing.

(Edit, just read they already are separated)

    • Interesting take. I think you might be right about them wanting to generate more revenue as it occurred just towards the end of the quarter. They might be trying to save their stock price but I think over the next few years we'll see them slump.

  • Bought a few seasons of big bang theory on dvd, some in ear headphones for work, self heating pads for sore muscles, a new microphone (snowball), a Mario game for my 3DS, and a headset for my pc. Can't wait for all my goodies to arrive! They'd all been on my 'watching' list for a while, and this sale was good reason to get them now they were a more reasonable price.

  • saved $40 on (200 woolies)
    saved $161 on dicksmith 30% off ps4

    +200

click15 - tried to spend more but didnt want to submit more into my cart then ended up pulling it all and spent $0

  • Bought a used iPhone 6 64gb in Silver for $570 delivered.

So happy I waited a couple weeks before buying.

  • +1

Was going to drop $850 on a part for my vehicle and this came just in time for it! Saved $100!

  • I missed it and wanted that micro server :(

Does anyone else know of any other codes?

  • $0. But I bought something after the sale ended for $11 that I needed.

  • +1

Unusual deal was for G4. Resisted the whole time and finally got it yesterday before it expired. Got a switch and tablet saving around $200 in total. But I am over $1000 poorer :(

  • +2

I have never spent even $1 on any ebay sale ever

    • +1

      That's odd.

      • More odd is the fact I have only ever bought like 10 things posted on ozbargain - 1 was eneloops from catch because I think they ended up free

        • That is seriously wow! 10 things only purchased but you are always on top of all the prices.

  • I like to think different, next time I will put some items up for sale during the sale period with FREE shipping and end it within the 3 days (if I have anything that is). So potential buyers will just pay 85% of my listed price but I get the full amount. Then I wouldn't spend at all instead earn more.

    • +1

I put up heaps of things I don't need anymore and mentioned the sale in my description. Made sure the auction ended the same day the code expired. Got some pretty decent bids. Covered most of my purchase expenses which was a nice bonus.

      • That's smart. I should have planned for that but got so busy.

  • I spent $85, I got a neat $15 off my purchase.

  • The question people should be asking is why is eBay flooding the market with offers? Simple! Business is crap and it is eBay's own doing.

eBay used to be fun and cheap. Now it is expensive and boring.

Many sole traders who used to sell and therefore buy have left after eBay after being forced to accept PayPal payment and forced to accept returns. eBay is well aware that their forced return policy was too harsh on sellers hence the introduction of allowing sellers to charge a restocking fee.

    • They should lower their selling fees(especially for non-commercial sellers e.g. mom and pop) which will bring more people back. But alas, they are greedy maggots.

    • I'm sure most eBay sole traders would LOVE to see eBay lining Dick Smith's and Kogan's pockets every couple of months

  • About $400 for me.

  • bought myself a home sound system. saved $100. stoked

  • Bought the following items and spent nearly $2,000 using two accounts.

    2 x sofa sets
1 x self propelled lawn mower
    1 x 40 inch LED TV
    1 x Baby Bag
    1 x dining set with 6 chairs
    4 x 15 LED solar lights
1 x Kids slide and swing
1 x TV wall mount bracket
    2 x Crystal Chandeliers

spent around 250, made around 3500.

  • I bought $400 worth of Ticketmaster gift cards for $300 total, when buying tickets to The Lion King for a group of friends :)

  • Zero. Nothing I looked up was cheaper after applying the discount.

The sale reminded me why I don't use eBay anymore.

  • Didn't buy anything.. as already had a $50 voucher till yesterday.. and got another one today from past 2 deals on ebay..

  • I bought 6 bicycle card decks and my 3rd replacement stylus for my note 3 lol

  • I hope you remembered cashrewards. Most of mine seem to have been tracked already

  • Bought two 10g bullion's of gold. So a little over a grand.

  • +1

    none actually.

my wife OK'd me to get a PS4 or XBONE, but I just find myself not gaming anymore. I do have a WiiU, 3DS and Steam. Kept asking what's wrong with me.

my Z1 compact's screen is cracked, but I didn't bought a new one. Too pricey now. Just want to fix the screen.

just don't want to spend at all. getting old :(

You can tell if a person is married or has kids by looking at their steam profile.

(Last seen online: 855 days ago)

      • Haha. So true. But hey, they might be playing on Origin :)

  • +2

$400 on stuff I needed and would have eventually bought anyway. I like the discounts that apply across all of ebay, if you know what you're looking for you can get some good deals. Not everyone will raise their prices like the main stores. Forgot to use cashrewards though, again damnit.

    • That's $6 you could've saved and $6 less feeBay gouges

      • No, $10

  • Got the LEGO Simpsons House + Kwik-E-Mart (minus the boxes) for $385 delivered.

Now to figure out where to put them.

  • -1

Wasn't there something like a $100 savings limit? I got rejected using the code for my third (or maybe even second!) purchase
