would be a downgrade really since the Bob lite has AC wireless and VOIP.

I find the wireless connection on the W8980 to be quite poor. Even with direct line of sight.
i have to say yes to this! I bought this modem 1.5 year ago, trust me: its pretty bad, even when my iphone was literally next to the modem, the signal was sometimes "average"!
Man, should i open the modem and put my iphone inside it?
i can also say, ive had this one for about the same time, nothing but problems with it.
Same. My billion 5200g was way better. Constant drop outs and poor speeds when multiple connections
BAD modem/wifi, looking to upgrade this POS right now actually.
The Archer C5 goes on special for about $100? I think that has better reviews.
I think that is router only.
I understand the Archer D7 is a lot better but for more.
Don't get this piece of crap. I have one and I get less speed than I should have. I tried older TP-Link modem against this one and my old modem achieves 200 KB/sec more than this one. I tried firmware upgrade and it does worst than before. Choose other brand like Billion.
The Archer series is what you'll want. Get the D7 or D9 instead.
Would this be a worthy upgrade over the iinet BoBlite or just a sideways move?
