Not a bad deal. No love for Sydney.

Having said that, CX has a fair chunk of negative publicity lately.

Think Sydney get's a fair share of love. Good to see the Nanny state getting some lovin'

    Put deal in the title.

Hi Rep, Any deal from Melbourne to HK between March 2015 to April 2015?

    • 2016?

    • +3

      Yep. The Delorean

    • Looks like it's around $829.72 for any date around there.

Hi Rep, Any deal from Perth to Hong Kong?

  • All these cheap deals from Adelaide. Can't imagine there's any less demand to leave the place.

    • notice how it's a RETURN deal. because when you've seen all the crap everyone else has to offer you realise it's not such a bad place after all.

Rep can you throw in a cockpit tour with the flight?

  • why no love for perth

    • +2

      because nobody loves perth

  • FROM $606 - How to find flights from $606?
Try and error on dates; I am having difficulties to find anything close to $1440 flying for departure from 24Dec15 and return by 10Jan16.
I am just confused as title says travel from 24Dec2015 and from $606, so thought there is some good deal from CX or I just don't know how to find.

Agree, just tried searching around a few dates and nothing comes close for any of the classes to the advertised (best) price. Feels more like a bait and switch

Could it be because December 25 is a major holiday?

    • +2

I just tried making a booking for ADL to NRT (Tokyo) return in Jun. Total came in at $720.43, as advertised. Pretty decent price considering it includes luggage and meals. Admittedly, I also tried a second dummy booking for around Christmas this year, and the total was about $1700.
Guess it depends on destination and dates.

    • Seems like the promotion does not have low prices in December or January. The "from $606" is a bit of a bait if you're looking at these dates, because the price is more than double that!

The end of February gets prices about 30% higher than the promotion.

      • That's because it's around a peak period - Chinese new year

It does say "from just A$606 for departures from 24DEC15 to 31AUG16" so nothing wrong if some prices far higher in that range (i.e peak times)

        • To clarify, I mean that there are don't seem like very low prices in December and January, due to the holidays of Christmas and CNY (Monday Feb 8 2016).

Qantas has $1600 from ADL to HK on Dec 24 to Jan 10. And it's only $1201 from Jan 11 to Jan 27.

For these same dates, CX is $1462 (Returning Jan 13) and $1274.

Seems that Qantas' normal prices are very close, sometimes better, comparing to the CX "Taste Asia Special" for these two months from late December to February.

Personally I would use the sale in winter next year. The ticket prices on CX are very good in May to July. Also the direct flight from ADL to HK is very nice, cutting the travel time significantly. Qantas takes you to Brisbane or Sydney.

@twocsies: May be more accurate for the sale to be from Feb to Aug 2016 then if there are no real discounts on the end of year /CNY period.

        • @Dbuiz: Yes I think so. Sorry I downvoted your previous comment before thinking about this issue… But as always we need to comparison shop before buying something just because it's listed as a deal.

        • @Dbuiz: Agreed. would it be fair to post a deal with title eg "Woolxxx - all goods from 50 cents, on sale from tomorrow to Aug 2016". In fact, nothing is on special till March next year. The price of "no brand" toothbrush is 50cents, others are normal price. And you need to log in to find out.

  • very good deals! Haven't seen prices this low
