Now the real question is, do you want to give $178 to GearBest?

    • +1

You do not. You might get lucky once or twice and actually get what you ordered in a somewhat timely manner but you will inevitably get burned. And when you do, it will cost you time, money and headaches to get anywhere with their terrible support. Never again.

  • +9

    Beware. Dodgy Seller.

    • +1, only had bad experiences from them on items of lesser value

  • +3

I was ordered from gearbest 2months ago.
    Still waiting…. never use again.

    • +12

Never order yourself !!! Always be born like normal

      • +4

I was the one who ordered a gobrandon.

Here's hoping hoping brandon arrives soon, I can't wait to get my hands on it.

        • Hope gobrandon is as good as a gopro.

        • is it just me, or does what scrimshaw said sound a bit creeping?

    • Dispute!

    • Hi gobrandon,

We are very reregt that you don't receive the package.

Could you please PM me your order number? I will check and solve for you. Thanks.

      • why havnt you answered my PM from a couple of weeks ago rep?

  • +5

    10/10 avoid gearbest

I'm going to stand up for gearbest.

I bought a media player from them. it was DOA. 2 emails later they agreed to to replace it without me having to return the faulty item. the replacement item arrived as fast as the original item (1 month).

gearbest were efficient and prompt in dealing with my issue and delivering a positive result.

all my orders (11) have been received and have resulted in a satisfactory outcome.

    • Rofl. So the -8 votes mean he or she's lying?

Sounded like someone's personal experience with GearBest was detailed; nothing more, nothing less.

I have ordered 2 products from GearBest and they were delivered in a timely fashion, and in working order.

This is simply my experience with Gearbest, as was u/altomic's detailed above.

      • yes, laughable. and then you get negged for stating the obvious.

    • Hi altomic,

Very glad to heard that you problem has been solved and satisfy with our service.

If you have any further questions, we're always happy to help.

    Another bad experience here…

I bought a phone from them for about the same $$ which had a lot of issues. GearBest offered me a $30 voucher as compensation.

PayPal awarded me a full refund through my claim but I still had to spend another $70 to send it back to China due to the lithium battery.

    Never again…

    • -3

why would you have sent a lithium battery back (which costs china manufacturers buggar all to make))?????

      • It's in your description.

Battery Capacity: Built-in 6250mAh powerful battery

Had the same problem with an Elephone P7000

        • -1

Maxx Power didn't say he bought this phone. he didn't state which phone he bought. he only stated that he bought a phone with a lithium battery.

        • @altomic:

Australia Post don't accept lithium batteries for delivery. And to get a refund from paypal you need to return all the goods, hence the high courier charges.

        • @gooddealmate:

the Elephone P7000 has a removable lithium battery. why would you send a battery back when it can be removed?!?!?! and thus not be affected by austpost rules regarding lithium batteries?

          can you understand that?

        • +2

@altomic: I don't think Maxx Power have said what model he had. That said, quoting what gooddealmate said:

to get a refund from paypal you need to return all the goods

So if you don't send lithium battery, then you'd not be able to get the refund as far as my understanding goes?

I frankly don't think these people are being unreasonable, GearBest have been getting a really bad reputation, from recent RITECH VR 3D glasses deal and how some people still haven't received theirs, Pipo X7 deal and how they couldn't fulfil everyone's orders, and more. Of course, these can easily be just once off thing. That said, I don't think people sharing their experience is a bad thing. Some people have bad experiences, some had good experience.

        • @altomic:

          My mistake, P8000 not 7000

      • I bought a Ulefone Be Touch 2 which was defective. When I asked GearBest for a refund they offered me a $30 coupon as compensation.

I then put in a claim through PayPal who came back straight away in my favour for a full refund.

However, as mentioned by 'gooddealmate' you have to send the entire phone back first..

Since AussiePost wont send lithium batteries you have to use a courier like Pack & Send which will set you back anywhere from $70-$85. This is at your cost.

I am not blaming GearBest for how it is in Australia but you just need to keep this in mind when purchasing a ChinaDroid and who to purchase from. For example DX has a Sydney return depot.

        • I am very sorry to hear about this situation.

As for our warranty return and policy, please kidnly refer here: http://www.gearbest.com/about/warranty-and-return.html

If there are any quality problem, csutomer can return for repaired or refund. Or chose repaired on the local shop and we will offer the compensation.

With all those bad comment why would anyone order from Gearbest?

  • +9

I had a bad experience with GearBest as well.
I wonder why we haven't banned this seller yet in OzBargain.

    • +1

Mods keep giving the store rep temp bans, but that's it.

      • ok, let's give 'em temp bans for 30 years :)

    • +4

I wonder why we haven't banned this seller yet in OzBargain.

this site makes money by how many people click on deals. the less deals the less clicks and so the less money the site makes.

the mods need to weigh the dodgyness of a company (even dodgy companies get clicks and thus income for the site) versus the risk of pissing people off and them not returning to the site and thus losing clicks/income.

this is generally how most companies work/decide on what to do. "will this decision make me more money or less money" not "will this make it better or worse for the end user"

Still waiting on my 3D glasses for over 3 months. Never again.

    • +1

Oh yeah. I forgot I ordered them. Can we do a dispute via paypal?

      • Can we do a dispute via paypal?

yep, you have up till 6 months to claim now via paypal. put in a dispute then escalate it to a claim ASAP and get your money back :)

        • -1

          Dear Customer.

We are very regret that you don't receive the order. Could you please PM me your order number first? I will check and solve for you. Thanks.

        • +1

@gearbest: Nobody bother with GearBest. Go straight to PayPal and open a dispute ASAP.

  • +2

Ordered two flashlights from them before, waited 2 months and never arrived. Don't waste your time even though they appeared to be cheap.

  • @All give two lines review at trustpoint.com. A store rep will contact u and ask details about ur order numbers. He just credits ur money back. I waited for VR glasses for almost 3 months like many people here. Money refund is fine but the pain we taken for waiting and poor after sales is not accaptable.

  • +2

Same here….their terms and conditions are a joke. Had a defective android/windows media player (after 45 days) and they offered me 2 options. 45 bucks towards gear best account or replacement (after me paying the 95usd for handling fees).

  • +3

Another one here that got burned by GearWorst.
    Never again.

  • I've never had a problem with GearBest, would happily order from them again

  • don't buy from them… you will not receive the product you ordered.. If you are lucky you will receive after 2 months

  • Terrible company

  • Putting people's feelings aside about the company, what are people's thoughts about the phone?

    • To be honest, I am not sure what to say about the phone.
I don't know much about frequency so others probably will comment on it.
HD Screen is slightly disappointing (FHD would've been much nicer), 2GB would be plenty for its resolution and its SoC.
MT6735, I've seen it being budget SoC (being compared to Snapdragon 410, similar benchmark albeit better).

In short, it's a phone with main strength lying in battery life.

That said, I wouldn't buy something with that much battery, unless you can say for certain that they've not skimmed on the safety measures.

  • Any store rep around: I want to buy this GS98C.Can the store rep confirm they have stock and i will get it. I have previously bought 3 times and none was shipped even in 45 days. The maker SZdome company only have these guys as authorised sellers so I am willing to give u a try again.
Can any store rep answer my questions?
