XtremeGuard - 91% off Site-Wide When You Order 2 or More Items

394
Power91

Got an email saying the site it 91% off, have dealt with them before and their products are quite nice, as well as their customer service. I bought a skin for my Nexus 5 (carbon fibre) and it definitely feels nice and was worth the $1 or so I paid.

You need to have 2 items in the cart to get the discount. Also, they are currently offering free replacements for screen protectors so you can claim one for your existing XtremeGuard one if you desire.

EDIT: Should mention that you still have to pay for shipping.

Makes you wonder how high their margins are if they can offer 91% discount

    • -4

Or they are prepared to make a loss.

      • +16

Definitely not a loss, anything other than the screen protectors are just rebadged supercheap accessories you get on ebay (eg phone mounts etc)

        example:
        $49.99
        http://www.xtremeguard.com/product-p/car-mount-flozu.htm

        $1.98
        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Universal-360-Car-Mount-Holder-Wi…

And they get poor reviews, being one of the cheapest/basic car mounts.

Even after the discount most items are not worth it esp with shipping added

it's alarming how many people are persuaded by a fancy brand name.

        • +1

Lol I got their - Samsung Galaxy S6 Spartan PhalanX Case from $13 from Ebay (Aus seller), certainly not $49.

        • -4

@tiny dry dick: Geez post an opinion and get downvoted by the tightarse brigade ;) FWIW screen protectors, as a whole, are not worth using; anyone that claims otherwise is "easily persuaded" by their claims of screen protection. Especially if you are willing to stick a $1 protector on your expensive phone.

        • @gokhanh: Definitely didn't downvote you. Take it more as meaning "see comment below" rather than personally.

Also screen protectors don't protect from falls but they do protect from scratches / chips. Tempered glass protectors are AWESOME btw. Just change them once they get a few scratches to keep your phone looking new.

        • @hoxygt: how do you know its genuine?

        • @snagseb:

Genuine what - PhalenX? It looks identical but can't be sure the brand is the same.

        • @hoxygt:

Yeah. Could be like Spigen cases. Look identical but they aren't.

    • +1

      This is their normal price.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/xtremeguard.com

Most of their procduct can be found a lot cheaper on ebay after shipping.

The only time where their deal are marginally good is when they have 90% off + 50c shipping.

So many people just get fool by the constant 70%-90% off that this site put up.

  • What about shipping? Is it free

    • +2

Nope, it was $5 for 2 small items, so order enough to make it worthwhile, I guess. I ordered for the family when I purchased stuff.

    • No often it's expensive and more than what an item itself may be. Best way to get an idea is to put something in your cart that may come down to a few dollars. Looks cheap until shipping is added.

  • free shipping?

I wouldn't recommend the Spartan glass for iPhone. The glass doesn't have a curved edge, and I've chipped two of them already on my wife and my iPhone 5s. If you are going to get a glass screen protector get one with a curved edge.

    • Do you have any recommendations for curved glass screen protectors?
      Thanks.

      • https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/213743 - Spigen's design has the curved edge. If you check the comments underneath this post you'll see some other recommendations.

          Thank you.

      • There are some at some coles Stores and currently on special 20% off. I got one for iphone 6s plus for $16 and cannot believe how good quality is, its called Tempered Glass and resist daily finger print grease as well.

Previously i also had similar as @yojabbajabba and also cracked the edges.

You really shouldn't throw it at your wife

  • Have bought from them plenty of times before, just got a package last week for a few tempered glass screen protectors for my LG G4, if you can wait about 2 weeks for delivery then it comes out cheaper than buying stuff locally/eBay even with shipping charge.

  • Bought a couple of the car mounts on one of their last sales and must say they are pretty good quality.

No way they are worth $80 but definitely worth the ~$7(US) after discount

  • Thanks OP and KKraig, just bought some screen protectors and a car mount.

  • +2

The cases look like the cheapo ones off eBay.

  • cheers OP, I ordered a few things which worked out pretty decent pricing

  • "Also, they are currently offering free replacements for screen protectors so you can claim one for your existing XtremeGuard one if you desire."

    Where'd you get this from?

  • I wouldn't buy the 6s protectors, they aren't curved so it won't stick to the edges of the screen.

  • Thanks Op
Got a bunch of stuff. Spreads the US$5.87 shipping.
At those prices (91% off) I am happy.

  • Is anyone able to find an equivalent of this on eBay?

    http://www.xtremeguard.com/product-p/smartphone-kickstands.h…

I really want one, but unable to find for some reason! Also, just not willing to pay the $5.50 odd on shipping!

Whilst not the same, I bought a few of these stands and had them lying around the house. They are pretty good for $1.19 (although I am sure I paid less for them). http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mini-Desk-Folding-Stand-Holder-Cr…

      EDIT: Just found these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Cell-Phone-Universal-Mini-Desk-St…

      • Wow, the more I see of these ebay variants, the more and more obvious that they are clearly getting these products for <$1 a piece from the same supplier, if not 50 cents, and charging a 3000% markup after slapping on a brand name. Disgusting.

Not a deal even with the 91% discount. The fact that they are even able to offer a 91% discount tells you something about the quality and real value of these products. I have used screen protectors from them in the past and the quality isn't impressive at all. A $5 tempered glass protector from a local ebay seller is better quality..

        • Sounds like a few of our local retailers too lol

  • +2

This website is untruthful. I bought from them last time. The screen and back protectors are totally crap, low quality (worth 1$ on eBay). They send wrong items as well and no apology. I have to get my money back from Paypal. Some money I can't get back because they sent item with correct name but very very low quality. Not recommend.

Wow for $50, are these mini magical cloths? Their instructional video is also very informative! http://www.xtremeguard.com/product-p/plat-capt-cloth.htm.

  • Thanks. Got two glass covers for phone and iPad for $19 delivered.
    Not bad.

  • +1

I have used one of these protectors in the past (the "wet install" ones) where you use soapy water to apply it. The texture of the actual cover was horrid, tempered glass is MUCH better, and more protective, and more scratch resistant, and probably cheaper.. Just my opinion, but these guys are 91% over-inflated prices in the first place.

  • Finally got myself a Macbook Pro protective cover! (listed price $70)
    Thanks OP :)
