Me and a friend went to EB Games at Mt. Gravatt (who had 10+ at the time of posting) and bought two. Eb price matches without checking stock levels. Can post receipt pics if necessary.

      • PLEASE! can I have receipt? picture for controller, thanks

Grabbed one from Target Rockdale yesterday, may still have some left.

    • Thanks for the heads up! I grabbed the last one at Rockdale. I called ahead and she put it aside for me and I grabbed it in my lunch break.

    • Target Rockdale, the sleeper store for good stock. Been many a bargain had there.

Has anybody SEEN this? It's fugly. I walked right past it, feeling a little sick as a result.

We've moved off grey consoles and controllers for many years now. There was a reason for that.

Good deal. But wow, the ugly.

    • "We've moved off grey consoles and controllers for many years now"

Which is why this is called an anniversary edition!

How are the Thumb grips on these? Mine are worn out and have fallen off on my two other controllers

    • You can get these cool little rubber covers for the grips, they're really great. They add grip and generally give the controller a much better feel.

      About $10 from ozgameshop.

    • +1

I got 10 of them for like $2 on ebay. Working fine!

    • Any recommendation on brand? There seems to be a couple of different types. I was quite happy with the original concave type grip but just not strong enough

    • Apparently that was just an issue on the very early controllers - did you buy your second one with your console on or around launch? As far as I know it's fixed now.

      • Yea I bought the second with the console around launch. Maybe its worth buying a third and sending the others back for repair/replacement?

        • Unfortunately they'd be out of warranty by now so it might not be worth it. I know you can buy replacement thumbsticks which are fairly easy (if a bit fiddly) to replace if you're okay with pulling your controller apart.

I got one of these bad boys yesterday. Good price! And the grey looks better than black or white imo. Looks cool next to my blue one. The kids now know that the grey controller is Daddy's and they're not to touch it. They put the first scratch on the blue after less than 3 days.

This one gonna stay nice I swear it to valhalla!

  • price matched at Sydney CBD Galleries JB
    thx

  • Sold out at Greensborough. Back to the original price at Plenty Valley.

  • Just picked up the last one at Glen Waverley! Thanks :)

    • Actually, I got the last last one 5 mins after you! They had one hiding out the back :D

  • Just grabbed the last one from Mt Ommaney!

  • Have there been any announcements if the 20th anniversary headset will be available here too?

  • I really want one of these but they are so damm expensive. if they go on the ebay shop so we can use the voucher that would be great

  • Is this controller the same one shipped with the 20th aniversary console edition? Apparently people were bidding $10k for it? wtf - see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUH0lIjI_B0

    • Unfortunately not exactly the same. The one with that console had the square triangle circle and oddly the number 2 I think micro etched on the touchpad. The standalone controller doesn't. I think.

      • +1

        Yep, see here: https://youtu.be/CUH0lIjI_B0?t=418

I think the 2 is there because it's right next to the circle, so it's both a circle (O) as in the controller button, but also '20' as in 20 year anniversary.

        • Ah, that makes sense now!

  • sold out adelaide city

  • Typical target. Price listed as $85 and scanned at $69. I got the last one at broadmeadows.

    Thanks op!!

  • Just bought mine at Burwood, NSW. They had 4 left.

  • anyone tried indooroopilly?

  • sold out modbury adelaide

There are still some left at Morley, WA. Just grabbed 2 :)

    • +1

3+ left as of 10 minutes ago. Just grabbed one.

      • +1

Got one from Morley 30 mins ago. :) 2 left on shelf and one saved for someone in drawer. No stock left at Stirling Gate or Innaloo WA.

        • None left when I was there. 3 or 4 black controllers only.
Were they in the glass cabinet opposite the counter? That's where I saw the black controllers.

        • +1

@Max Power: sorry for slow response. There was two glass cabinets. They weren't next to the black ones. If you ring them they will put one aside for you if they have any left.

  • This controller is physically different to my original black one i bought years ago. The main thing I noticed (other than the distinctly nice styling) is that the thumbsticks are a "gritty/grippy" rubber instead of smooth rubber so feel a bit nicer. There are also a few other things that I can't objectively put my finger on. Subjectively the controller feels a lot nicer than my black one to use but whether that's some sort of placebo effect I'm not sure.

  • Just got mine at Target in Westfield Knox. There's still a number of them there.

  • +1

Got one from Target Epping. About 10 left in the display cabinet.

  • talking about ps4 controllers, white controllers - do they get dirty with use? This grey one and the black would be fine though.

    • +1

can't say for PS4, but my white PS3 controllers are kinda yukky after about 7 or 8 years of use……… (both have yellowed to some degree, and various grimes and dirt are trapped in the gaps as well)

      • Thanks, I like the look of the white ps4 but wondered about the controller.

  • got one thx :)

there were about 3 or 4 left at of 5pm today (Glendale NSW)

  • Got one at Target Carlingford, NSW for my son today. Thanks. But no Stan voucher.

  • Theres about 5 or 6 left at Pakenham VIC Target store

  • You have to ask for Stan voucher as they are kept separate.

  • The battery life on these PS4 controllers is horrid.

  • nice, gonna pick one up

  • Just picked one up at EB Brisbane City Myer Center! Very quick and simple. I just asked them if they could price match and they were happy to do so.

However when I tried EB and JB at Indooroopilly, they wouldn't price match because they either:
    1. Had to be in stock at Target (EB stated)
    2. Needed proof of pricing.

    • Yeah, it depends on the store, some are really easy going & others make you jump through hoops.

I couldn't find a controller at my local Target, but the EB I go to all the time happily price matched. :)

    • PLEASE! can I have receipt? picture for controller, thanks

  • Checked target Burwood, bondi, Broadway, leichardt, Rhodes, Liverpool, merrylands, parramatta, wetherill park, blacktown and all no dice. Finally called hurstville and apparently they had a handful in stock they had found out back. Managed to get my hands on one :)

  • I price matched with JBHifI :)

    • lucky. jbhifi parramatta refused outright. wouldnt even discuss it as "we only price match with target in the same shopping centre as us"

      • +1

Its never a point that it should be in the same shopping center…If it is in the metro store they should price match it with out any doubt..So I played my trick here, talking to the sweet lady in jbhifi that, I went to target maribyrnong and they said no stock but tried checking the stock for various stores and they advised me that they got stock in cheltenham, northland, caroline springs…I called all three stores and still got the answer as no stock, But I said to the lovely lady over the counter that they got stock in those 3 stores and she straight have price matched me with out even calling to stores…

Caution I tried the same trick in Harvey Norman Maribyrnong, gary the stupid sales guy was bit rude and said he cant find any stock on the target website and he cant price match it…I said the same story to him but being very rude on my face he said he will not match it..I straight away said f*** and left the site.

        • Some places only price match the same shopping centre, some are willing to do it. A mix of individual store policy and whether individual sales staff/managers feel like being nice or not.

  • Just checked the target link, the price has increased to $79?

  • NOOOO! damnit i wanted one =/

  • can someone PLEASE! can I have receipt? picture for controller, thanks

Tried Southland Westfields Target in VIC yesterday. No stock as expected. Don't really need this anyway, as I have all the original launch consoles (PS1,2,3,4) plus all their original accessories set up in my games room :) Not paying a cent more than the standard DS4 for something which is essentially not much more than a colour change.
