  • wonder if this is with google play.

    • +2

Yep. Mentioned in the first paragraph of the product description.

      • -3

To hard to say it 'yes' or 'no'?

        • Too lazy to read the description himself?

        • @Benjamin7711:

It's not particularly short/easy to read so I don't blame anyone for being "too lazy to read the description".

In fact, even if you Ctrl+f "google play", it doesn't point to anything in the description.

edit: Just realised it's in the description of the item on the geekbuying page, but not in the description here.

It would certainly help to be in the description of the OP.. not to mention if you're at work sometimes you want to be more subtle with what you have open and it's easier/quicker to just quickly ask "does it have google play" rather than click on a link with all these colourful ads of phones and have someone notice you're bludging.

You could also just say "too lazy to add it to OP?"
Just add "Comes with Google Play" and get rid of a lot of the technical specs which is frankly a bit overkill

  • The Nexus 5X has pretty much the same specs and is around twice the price.

If you could root this and install a more normal version of Android instead of MIUI, this would be really good.

    • +6

Nexus 5x has a smaller battery despite the bigger display. So this takes the crown if you want more screentime.

    • +2

MIUI is great to use. Android in clothes of iOS.

    • MIUI is great, personally it made my transition from apple to android very pleasant

  • Looks like good specs. its a shame you can not use a sd card 16 gigs is nothing!

    • +3

add another AUD$90, you can get the 32G version

      • +4

Apparently the 32gb version also contains 3gb RAM rather than the 2gb.

I think this or the OPPO R7 might be my new phone.

I really wish the Z series from sony didnt go to 5.2"

        • +6

Well, i have played with the oppo R7 for a day and i can say that the processore is really weak. It performs horrible when comparing with my one plus one. The system ui is heavily bloaed and laggy. Overall, the experience was not good. Suggest u look at something else in the price range. Xiaomi would be a better choice than lenovo or Meizu system wise.

        • +1

@climaxpower: Thanks heaps for that!!!! I will definitely look at the Xiaomi now. Their headphones are great!

As per the Mr Hugo Barra, memory cards kills the phone. Phone starts legging. So all flagship phones like iPhone, galaxy does not provided SD card. People use cheapest available card which could be legging not phone.

I am using Mi4i 16 GB, my bro is using Mi4 64 GB & my wife is using Redmi Note 4G. My parents are using Redmi 2 prime. So far no complaints from any one. So I would say Xiaomi is the best in this price range.

    • +4

So sad nexus has lost that crown

      • Technological Darwinism at play

        • What does that mean?
Hope I'm not the only one that doesn't understand..
Is this something to do with evolution?

        • @illumination: yeah, as tech gets better then we choose items with higher specs which forces makers to make better devices so that they can survive.

      • +2

The australian dollar has gone to shit. I still remember what amazing bargains the nexus 4 and 5 were :(

        • I guess that's a big part. Shall differences in the US price are amplified when converted to Aussie dollars.

        • Exactly. The us price for the nexus 6p is amazing at 499 plus 50 dollars of play store credit. The low australian dollar just makes it seem expensive.

  • +2

I was a nexus diehard but now Xiaomi has replaced Nexus for me. In fact they update their ROM every week!! The new Nexii are kind of ugly and overpriced IMHO. Only issue with this is no app drawer but easily fixed with Nova Launcher Prime!

    • +2

I personally prefer no app drawer :D

  • Yesterday's deal was $0.66 cheaper.

  • Whats the camera like? Is it on par to other flagship phones?

    • It's hard to say how well it compares with other flagship phones as this is presale, but this article mentions that the camera is Sony and using their new IMX25X sensor. The page also has come cropped samples that seem decent enough.

    • I use the Xiaomi Mi4 which has a 13mp back shooter and the photos are on-par with those from an iPhone 6

Since the Mi4c is a newer model, I would expect the cam quality to be similar.
