HP Pavilion X360 11" 2in1 Laptop - $542 after $100 Cashback @ Harvey Norman

130

My first time posting a deal.

Just frustratingly saw this listed on Harvey Normans website. I paid $770 for this two weeks ago after negotiating down from the $898 advertised price. Now I see it listed for $642 - $100 cashback. Great deal on a laptop/2in1 that gets some great reviews. Features a 5th gen intel 4 core N3700, 1TB hdd and 4GB ram.

NOTE: This is the NEW version of the Pavilion X360. There is an older completed different looking model that gets some not as great reviews. This model was released in June this year I believe. The easy way to tell the difference between new & old is the old had Beats Audio while the new has Bang and Olufsen.

My fiance has been using it for the past two weeks and loves it. A bit heavier than the top end 2in1's but does the job amazingly well at the price I paid, let alone the current one.

They are also selling the celeron equipped model for $1 less if someone wants to save a dollar :P

No beverage holder either, definitely avoid.

  • Why page for this product on HN has android logo?

Also should have used ssd instead.

  • not bad at all, would be great with a SSD added later.

  • the celeron is actually $1 MORE. with half the hdd. but apparently a 'full high definition' screen, compared to the pentium's 1366 x 768. How odd.

The pentium is more than twice as good as the celeron though, so …

    • The specs on harvey normans website are really messed up. Don't read too much into them tbh. There isn't any different screens available for this model. It was a PITA the research originally because I kept finding info on the old model. Pretty sure harvey norman list one of them as being non-touchscreen…

    $25 newsletter signup = $517

  • Does anyone know if this is compatible with windows power management? Or is it like the majority of the last 5 years models where their locked out bios makes it impossible to wake from hibernate if the machine was in sleep mode first? An easy way to check is to look at the default hibernate time. If it has has the issue they try to hide it by setting the default hibernate to 1080 minutes, or some other silly period of time, that the customers battery will not last. Note that setting the machine to hibernate when closing the lid will work OK, it is only if it hibernates after sleep.

Just a heads up on HP's $3000000.00 fine for consumer law breaches(apart from their dodgey quality during the 90's).
