There's about 30 left at this store. Unsure if other stores have them on special as well.

  • Bought the 4000k recently. Expect about 95% or so compared to the original. Don't seem to notice now so much. Like the fact I don't have to wait for full brightness at switch on. UV shouldn't be problem with these either. The 6500k would be brighter than the 4000k too.

Good time to replace the old fluros.

Why? Fluoro Tubes are already efficient and cheap.

    • I agree. I can understand replacing incandescents with LEDs but fluorescent tubes are very cheap and reasonably efficient. There is a reason that most office lighting is still the old fluorescent tubes.

  • Considering ALDI recently had LED flouro replacements a few weeks ago for $20, & the Osram are probably better quality, this is pretty good if more stores have them.

  • I bought the cool white 4000k a year ago. Just bought a cool daylight in this deal 6500k.
It seems these are exactly the same colour as each other… Maybe the reason they are on clearance

  • I installed (by a sparky not me…) a light in the kitchen, but I'm not sure if I can "upgrade" to this…all I remember was what the lighting shop people told me, my light fitting doesnt use the old starter, it had a electronic starter or something, and it apparently is better because it doesnt flicker like the starter ones…

So does this sound like I can "upgrade" to this?? THanks

    • The lights come with their own starter in the pack which you replaced yours with. I think your sparky was referring to the ballast.

      • Thanks mate, yea i remember they did mention ballast, and there is a little rectangular metal box (with lots of wires) next to the tubes.

So is it easy to replace or do I need a sparky for the "upgrade"?

        • Diy. Twist old tube off. Screw old starter out. Screw new starter in. Twist new led tube on making sure the leds face downwards. Done

        • @btdroppedbox: Thanks mate will check out local bunnings :)

  • Bunnings Highpoint (VIC) were willing to accept the pic for a pricematch for me just now. Thanks OP
