8 Free Event Cinemas Movie Tickets When You Open an ING Direct Account ($1k/Month Deposit Req'd)

220

I just found this offer from ING Direct, I'm pretty sure it's for new/recent sign ups to their Orange everyday product. Everyone can give it a shot to see if it works for older existing customers. Exact details below.

Requirements:

  • Deposits $1,000 or more within a calendar month from an external account into any personal ING DIRECT account in the friend’s name (excluding Living Super),
  • New/recent sign ups (If the friend has previously held an Orange Everyday between 8 October 2013 and 11 October 2015, then both the referrer and the friend are ineligible for this offer)
  • Keyboard and mouse to fill in the details

Maximum of one set of 8 movie eVouchers per person. For joint accounts, only one set of 8 movie eVouchers is given. If 2 or more of the referrer’s friends each satisfy the Eligibility Criteria set out above by 31 December 2015, the referrer will receive only one set of 8 movie eVouchers.

It doesn't work for existing customers, as it redirects you to the sign up page straight after, expecting you to sign up to an account.

  • Did they replace the $75 sign up reward with this one?

    • Doubt it. Seems like a separate promotion.

      • Are you sure?

… is not applicable in conjunction with any other promotional offer unless expressly indicated.

    8x tickets, EVERY month? wow!

    • +1

The 8 tickets are a once off - not every month.

  • Signed up on the 10th - eligibility starts on the 11th….

    • Bummer. Perhaps ring them up and inquire or hit them up publicly on Facebook if that doesn't work.

  • How do we know if we are going to get the ticket after the signing up new account and transferring money?

  • Cool, thanks OP, it's possible to signup, deposit $1000.00 in the first month then cancel as soon as you receive the 8 tickets.

Great deal except there is only one Event Cinema in Vic and it's only for special occasions.

I got shafted years back by using my CommBank rewards points on Gold Class cinema tix only to find there were none anywhere near me (lived in Bris at the time).

So, just check this is useful for you.

    • Event cinemas are so expensive if you don't have vouchers, noticed they jacked up ticket prices to $18.5 for standard, $21.50 VMAX and $24.50 for 3D!

Cineplex so much better at $8.50 or less everyday no vouchers needed, $6.50 on cheap days/nights.

      • All the big places are, hoyts cost like $24 for extreme screen 3D

        • Wow, so much greed, haha.

    • According to the T&Cs, it is for Event, Greater Union, BCC or selected Village Cinema sessions and is valid for 6 months.

      Here is the full text:

Surcharges apply to upgrade the cinema experience to Vmax or 3D & must be paid at the same time as redeeming eVoucher. Glasses sold separately. The onus is on the holder to use the eVoucher on or before the specified expiry date. After this period the barcode becomes void and cannot be used. Bookings can be made at Event, BCC, Greater Union and Village Cinemas box office at no extra charge however booking fees apply when booking online. This eVoucher is not available for use at Skyline Drive In and Moonlight Cinema. Not valid at Village Bendigo, Rosebud, Sorrento, Warragul and Warrnambool. Not valid for use for Gold Class, Europa Cinemas, Movie Marathons, group bookings, alternate content or special event screenings where the price of admission is greater than a standard admission. This eVoucher does not guarantee a seat - seating is subject to availability. Treat the eVoucher barcode and PIN details like you would cash. Not valid with any other promotion. No refunds given except those required by law. No date extensions available. No change given. This eVoucher cannot be sold without the prior written permission of The Greater Union Organisation Pty Limited. Standard classifications apply. Valid for use in Australia only.

  • Can you use two tickets at once? eg; take the GF for free as well? If not ill just stick to $6.50 cineplex.

    • Yes should do, I'm sure these are like your regular movie vouchers. You can use all 8 at once (for one show) even.

  • Just got an email with the offer, both referrer and referee will receive the tickets. Probably would prefer cash but still a good promo. Already signed up everyone I know though haha

  • Its says can be used in select village sessions in victoria. Anyone know which sessions or venues? Isn't very clear in t and c's.

    • This is all I can guess (I'm from Vic so the Village otion is a must).

"Not valid at Village Bendigo, Rosebud, Sorrento, Warragul and Warrnambool. Not valid for use for Gold Class, Europa Cinemas, Movie Marathons, group bookings, alternate content or special event screenings where the price of admission is greater than a standard admission"

There is nothing about restrictions on Sat after 5pm etc. so I hope the only restrictions are the ones I listed above.

The deal URK should be as per the link :

    https://www.campaigns.ingdirect.com.au/movieoffer?code=XXXXX…

Not as per current OzBargain referral link. People might miss out using wrong link.

    • I agree, but the site wont let you post referral links.

      • Click the referral link at bottom of post, or type it in:

        Unique Friend Code (non-mandatory field)
If you have been referred by an ING DIRECT customer this is the 6 digit code your friend supplied you.

  • Anyone got their tickets yet?

    • Not me, but remaining hopeful :)

    • They will be emailed a month after deposit. So you gotta wait atleast another couple of weeks i think.

      • It actually says 'the month after' not 'a month'. Which means it could be anytime in November I rekon.

  • Got my tickets today. My wife got hers a few days earlier.

Bookings can be made at Event, BCC, Greater Union and Village Cinemas box office (however booking fees apply when booking online).

Looks like it is any session time (ie no Sat 5pm restriction).

    • Did they post them to you or email? Did you get a confirmation you were eligible or they just arrive randomly?

      • Email with link to 8 movie tickets. I got no confirmation about eligibility (I was already an account holder).

  • How do I add my refer link to the list?

    • If you are asking how to add a referral code like abc123 to the ING application, there will be a field on the application form where you can add it. If you are asking if you can share your own referral code out to other OzBargainers then you cannot here. Your post will most likely be deleted within a few minutes. Believe me I've tried.

      • last time a wiki was used so everyone could add their codes for ozbargainers to use.

    • Click "edit" in the grey box then add your code in and save.
To manually get to the referral settings go to My Account -> edit -> -> referrals.

  • Did anyone else get their tix?

    • Not yet… I phoned ING and they said I was on the list, but haven't received them. They said it can take up to 6 weeks.

      • Ohk, Thanks for the reply :)
