LG Music Flow H4 Multi Room Speaker $138 @ JB Hi-Fi

80

Original price $279

Don't let the size fool you, the H4 produces an impressive sound, with clear vocals and deeper bass than you'd expect -delivered by Dual Passive Radiators and efficient speaker technology.

The built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery enables many hours of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi listening -making them a great option for spontaneous music listening or as rear speakers for your Music Flow Sound Bar. When setup as a Wi-Fi speaker, the H4 can playback popular music streaming services like Spotify, Pandora* and Google Play Music*, as well as music stored on networked devices -including music stored on nearby phones. Music transmitted over Wi-Fi is clearer and won't be interrupted by an incoming phonecall to your smartphone.

Pair two H4s together with any networked Music Flow Sound Bar and conveniently create a wire free surround experience.

  • I think the entire LG Music Flow system is on sale

    • The H4 and H5 are completely different speakers. The H4 is portable and more like the Bose Soundlink mini speakers. The H5 is a much larger speaker (louder), but with no battery. So it would depend on your needs.

I have two H5's and they are very good. I just needed the portable option as well ……

    • Never saw the H4 included in the HN special

      • The H4 wasn't on sale at HVN.
        But the H5 was.

I have the whole range spread around the house and after a shaky start and a number of firmware updates the system is now very reliable. The wife loves the little H3 in the kitchen linked to the sound bar so she can hear the TV while cooking . I've usually paid about 50% RRP, each time waiting for another sale to come around. This is the first time I've seen the H4 discounted and I've just grabbed one to extend the sound to the front deck. The H5 is a great bedroom speaker and I bought the H7 for my 20 year who's very impressed with the bass and the maximum volume (this has been the only LG Music flow purchase I'm now regretting).

    • that is a pretty sick set up, would this speaker range be good for a home cinema set up? Can I connect more than 2 of the same to the TV/Media device?

      • For a home cinema you can use 2X h3 or 2X h4 for the rear surround speakers. I think they have to be a pair of the same to use this feature. The H3 does not have an Aux I/P but the others do. I link the Dining room, lounge, Family room speakers to fill the house nicely without having to crank up the volume on one.

        • Can the H3 or H4 be used as rear speakers, in tandem with normal wired front speakers, connected to an AVR? Does the sound sync properly?

  • Shame it can't be controlled via Harmony Ultimate.

  • I got an Lg h5 for free from a customer pretty good for a mid range speaker but cant compare to the sonos or bose speakers. But software is rock solid and easy to use. This is half the price compared to the soundlink mini tho so not a bad price.

    • not only that but Sonos will have a much better resell value than LG

  • How do these compare to the Logitech range?

  • how do these go with playing MP3 & FLAC etc from your local NAS?

Everything now talks about streaming from pandora/spotify etc and no local playback from your LAN.

No problem with streaming music. The app links in to your "collection" and even groups them for you into "moods".

  • I think this LG range of speakers are quite underrated. I bought the smallest one some time ago, and had a chance to compare vs Soundlink mini. I would buy the LG again in a heartbeat. In a room that wasn't acoustically great (where most people use wireless, single speakers) there was little difference, certainly not something that justified double the price. Now that these are on sale, I cannot see why the bigger ones are not much better.

    • I agree, its a leap of faith going with a complete eco system and I've never regretted it either. I think the LG system is great and never fails to impress friends with its flexibility.

  • I bought the H7 from HN last weekend, the quality of the sound really floored me, easily comparable to Sonos Play5

H7 just lose out on the EQ, as you can adjust the EQ on Sonos, and the software, MusicFlow only has limited apps and stream, whereas Sonos has much more options and much more stable.

For the sale price however, can't complain…but this H4 I am definitely buying, this is the speaker that Sonos is missing

  • The H3's are also on sale, $99 down from $248

  • Trying to think how to integrate this into the folks existing setup. So they can have speakers much closer and not have the TV at volume 11+ due to bad hearing. They have a JVC 5.1 setup. Hrrmmmm possibility some sort of RCA->Bluetooth adapter.

  • can i play the music from windows desktop to these speakers via WIFI? or ios and android only?
cant find the windows application for speakers.
i bought 1h5, 1h4 and 2h3 online yesterday, but only got 1h3 today, others are out of stock.

The software is here for windows..

      http://www.lg.com/au/support-product/lg-H4-NP8350#software

I installed it when I first got my first speaker but haven't used it since. The android version does everything including accessing you music server. If you have it on a PC just enable network share and it will pop up in the app.

  • For those looking for a solution to playing all your old CD's through music flow. The new LG BP-550 Blu-ray. player allows you to pipe the audio to your Music Flow speakers. Mine works nicely and makes my old CD playing mini hi-fi redundant.
Another thing, the music flow speakers are all seen as Chromecast audio devices so even without the music flow software you can still play through the system. My wife uses Pandora and its Chromcast ability to send to individual speakers. If you want to link the speakers together you will need the LG music flow software.

  • I just added 2x H4 speakers to my system. Very small and compact with surprisingly good quality sound. Works well as surround sound rear speakers for the LG music flow HS6 Sound Bar but will mainly be used extending Music Flow outside.

  • Looks like the deal's over. Anyone know of any stores that still stock the h4?
