I wonder if the $15 dse hdmi cables are better quality than the $2 ebay ones☺

    • I don't take any chances on quality and only use Monster brand cables.

      • troll

  • Dick is no mate of mine.

      Everyone knows you love Dick.

      • I see what you did there.

  • +1

    Any bargains?

    • -3

When you go in store tomorrow n look at the price after discount & compare to competing retailers you tell me

      • +4

That's not how this site works you know..

        • Little hard to quote prices when it's in store only & dick smith online & in store prices Can vary significantly , this deal is just a heads up post if anyone is looking specifically for a Panasonic tv, obviously they will be smart enough to know there prices n check other retailers before buying from ds or use this deal to push down another retailer

        • +2

          @RogueWolf:
So where's the bargain then? 20% off means nothing without a base price to to compare it to.

And with how DSE is with screwing around with prices, there's extremely doubtful to be any 'bargain'.

        • -6

@Porthos: the bargain is 20% off, whether the prices in store are any good is up to you to go & have a look, but obviously your not buying a Panasonic tv n your real issue is with ds because they don't discount there items to free, you've been here 4 years & posted 4 deals how about putting effort in posting more deals then trolling, if you have an issue with the deal report the post to be removed I couldn't care less if it's removed, this deal will come n go if it helps someone awesome if not so be it

If you don't understand the above post I've translated it to Chinese to lol

          [ @Porthos ] ( /評論/ 3138302 / REDIR ) :討價還價是20% ,在商店的價格是否有什麼好的是由你去和看看,但顯然你不買松下電視n您的真實問題是DS ,因為他們不打折的項目有自由,你已經在這裡連續4年與發布7條怎麼樣把精力發布更多的交易則曳,如果你有一個問題,處理報告後要除去我不在乎,如果它去掉,這一交易將於n跳到如果它可以幫助別人真棒,如果不是這樣吧

          @RogueWolf:

the bargain is 20% off, whether the prices in store are any good is up to you to go & have a look, but obviously your not buying a Panasonic tv

I'll repeat it again for you; that's not how this site works. I can translate that to Chinese for you as well if you'd like?

but obviously your not buying a Panasonic tv n your real issue is with ds because they don't discount there items to free, you've been here 4 years & posted 4 deals how about putting effort in posting more deals then trolling, if you have an issue with the deal report the post to be removed I couldn't care less if it's removed, this deal will come n go if it helps someone awesome if not so be it

Oh nice deflection. Sorry, should I just be on the DSE and COTD mailing list like you are and just post anything they send through like you do?

But yes, totally trolling here because you post a 'deal' with absolutely no details, no prices, just a 'go in store and compare the prices yourself'.

        • +2

You've been here long enough to know professionals love to hate Dick Smith, especially post that have no specific deal highlighted.
Putting "Mates Rates" in the title is just adding fuel to the fire.

        • @Porthos: your getting boring now Porthos repeating yourself, top of this thread there's a tab that says "report" please report this deal & let mods decide rather then boring me with your rubbish

        • +1

@Porthos: Can't wait for the prices to be confirmed so I can neg this :)

        • @luke73: lol Luke the mates rates was just part of the email, but to be honest think it's becoming sad the way Some carry on about ds, little do those whingers realise ds deals forces other retailers to bring down there prices/price match & price beat, if ds went broke tomorrow there competition would be the winners not us, the good guys showed recently there just the same as ds raising prices n removing products before there eBay sale, those coupons ds advertises every second day & the trolls run around with the "excludes everything" comment because they don't get there Apple toys or chromecasts discounted, but do they look at other products the codes work on & even work on already reduced items laptops/tvs/Satnav//dashcam etc nope they just prefer to Whinge to get high on thumbs up lol, but you can bet there using those codes if ds has what they need, it's simple some items ds will be very competitive others they won't be & you go direct to the competition

        • @RogueWolf: You keep assuming so many people have it wrong, but its you that is mistaken. Its no big deal, but you need to just accept that. And the reason is simple, this is not ozdiscounts, ozsales, or oz%off which is what youre offering. A bargain is clearly defined by this site as the lowest price an item or items are available anywhere, not the cheapest at a particular store. Even when its $1 cheaper elsewhere, the dollar dearer store is not a bargain as per the sites definition.

          Its not a complicated concept.

  • I assume they will put the prices up 20% tonight once the stores close.

lets look at this example tomorrow (prices from google cache)

      PANASONIC 55" (139cm) Ultra HD Smart 100Hz TV TH-55CX640A

      8 Oct: 1,978
      19 Oct: 2,299 WAS $2499.00
      21 Oct: 1,942

      Prediction:
      22 Oct: 2499 - 20% = $1999

(incidentally, same TV is $1695 at TGG )

      • for sure it will go up as the $1942 is a sale for today only and online only, tomorrow should be back to norm before price.

      • That's an online only price, need to quote store price, probably higher already

      • +1

Noting that this is an instore only deal, however today's price on the 55" Pana is 2299, making it 1839 after 20% if that's how it works instore.

Would only be worthwhile if combining with 10% bonus DS cards deal, buying $1650 of DSE cards gives $1815 value, plus $24.
Total spend 1674, savings of 25 over TGG but much more hassle.
