Thanks OP! I missed him on his final tour… and the one after that…. and…

  • Thanks. When is his next comeback tour? Gotta be the 3rd or 4th one.

The very first free google music album that I don't just add to my library for the sake of it. Of all the free music cluttering up the library I can at least know that none are John Farnham….

    • +7

      Your loss.

    • +3

Thanks for your comment. Not sure it added much to the discussion letting everyone know you don't like John Farnham…..

      • -7

Has any comment added to discussion? are you new here? :P
We could discuss why people like John Farnham if you wish?

Watch out, you've fallen afoul of John Farnham fans, both of them.

You know, his album is the highest selling album in Australian history.

Beats acdc, Beatles, michael Jackson, etc.

Speaks about his popularity and quality.

his album is the highest selling album in Australian history.

Possibly not so. Wikipedia makes the same claim on the "Whispering Jack" page:
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whispering_Jack

But that page as a link to the "List of best-selling albums in Australia", which says that Meat Loaf sold slightly more copies of "Bat Out of Hell":
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_albums_in…

Still, it's an impressive achievement. 1.68 million albums is a lot!

        • Haha all that says is Australian's have terrible taste. :P If he was so good he'd be able to sell music anywhere. Even Natalie Imbruglia had more success in the US.

I wish some of those other bands you listed would give their music away for free.

Where's Barnsy? he should be giving away some of his stuff too.

And isn't Farnham due for a farewell tour? He has to milk all the gullible Aussie fans.lol

        • @Ronnnie:
Would you please leave those stupid Australians alone!!!
          And the aussies on this site too;
Thats like shooting fish in a barrel ffs!

      • Certainly does. Just like the popularity of:

        • 50 shades of grey
        • twilight
        • the davinci code
        • Fox News
        • the herald sun

        etc etc etc

It's almost like you can judge the quality of any media/art/expression just by its popularity.

        • I guess it does come down to personal tastes.

      • And he's worth only $15 million. http://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-celebrities/singers…
Says a lot about being an artist in Australia.

Funny how the entire album is free, but the individual songs are still prices

      • +2

        Entire album: $0.00
        The individual tracks: Priceless

        For everything else there's Mastercard.

  • Thanks for that OP!

  • Like the track Whispering Bargains.

  • -3

Thank OP, but sorry still not cheap enough for me.

    Farnham is not a bargain

  • +6

    That's "Free"dom!

  • -1

    Awesome!

  • -2

    Thanks great find. Woot!

  • +1

    Awesome deal, thanks OP

I expect Chisel's greatest hits free sometimes in the next few days, I mean, they give away Farnsey for free…why not Barnsey?

  • I hate how you need to add credit card/paypal to get these free albums.

    • +3

You just need to get Google Opinion Rewards and complete at least one paid survey.. once you've got credit won't need to add a credit card.

      • This is how I've done it.

  • Nice one OP! thanks.

  • Awesome!

  • One of the best albums of all time!!!!

  • Is there a way I can get this music for free without having to provide Google Play with my credit card number or PayPal details? I don't want them to be there in case stuff accidentally gets bought in the future without my knowledge.

    • +1

Install the App Google Opinion Rewards
      https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.and…

Answer a few surveys, get some credits then get free music.

    • I don't want them to be there in case stuff accidentally gets bought in the future without my knowledge.

You just need to change your Google Play settings to require authentication for all purchases, i.e. you need to enter password for all purchases. You do have a complex password on your Google account and you never share it, right.

  • Nice! I almost missed this!

  • Thnx OP. John Farnham an alltime greatest singer

  • I always loved barnsey!!
