Yeah they do these reasonably frequently if you sign up. They also did a $20 off $70 online spirits last week, but I couldn't understand the T&Cs or figure how to get it to work until about an hour before it expired, l so didn't post it. It was unbelievable, the actual coupon code was hidden in the email, like invisible. I can't remember how I even found it. Maybe I pasted the contents into notepad or something. It was like invisible text that you could only see when highlighted, between two images…

  • Thanks. Great post to start the weekend.

  • The T&Cs says it's for $5 off?

… my bad, just read OP info.

"Coupon cannot be redeemed if photocopied, replicated, or severely damaged"

    Isn't that a problem?
EDIT: Nope. Staff said she'll try scanning (smashed phone screen)… Worked instantly!

    • Did they honour the $10 given the t&c's?

      • It scanned through as a $10 discount. Staff didn't question/read/anything it :)

        • Cool!

Why do you tempt me to drink OzBargain…..

    • Why to purchase more "deals" of course!

    • Don't drink then. Get Campral from your DR, and seek counselling if you need it.

Would 1C price match DM and then offer the discount?

    • Definitely.
I'm getting my head around coupons more, lately.

      It's two different stages.
      * 1st get their price offer right.
      * 2nd make the payment, minus gift/credit/coupon.

      At least, that's my view/experience.

      • If anyone pulls this off please report

I pulled one off …. I was then asked to leave the store.

          1. Present item at desk.
          2. Ask to price match DM.
          3. Show discount barcode.
          4. Educate cashier they need to input 'Beat com (competitor) price' and not 'No further discount' at Step 2.

There appears to be two options when one presents a competitor price.

$49.95 LCPA. Replaced a warm 6 pack with a coldie from the fridge. Now on my second.

Offer ends 27/10 so looks like I'll be back for the Glenmorangie tomorrow.

    • I price matched Dan's LCPA price ($63.95 in SA) then got $10 off so $53.95 total. Cost $70 at First Choice. Then as I spent over $30 got 1000 flybuys points plus I used a Coles gift card purchased using a Platinum Edge Amex so 3x Amex MR points. Maximising every point earn option as well!

  • Was in the 1st choice car park and checked OB out of boredom while on the phone… Score!

  • Guinness Cans 24x440ml $54.95 @ Dan Murphy's

They would price match and then whack another $10 off, now that's a good price for Guinness! (normally $65~)

(Some states say "delivery only offer", however when I selected ACT store it didn't.. hmm).

  • Glen Grant 10 year old - normally about $60. Currently $55-$10 = $45
    https://www.1stchoice.com.au/Spirits/glen-grant-10yo-single-…

    • Plus activate the Fly Buys offer (spend $30 get 10,000 points) to get $5 worth of points back bringing the effective price down to $40.

And if you use a cashback paywave debit card (e.g. Orange Everyday, ME Bank) save another 5%, giving an effective cost of $37.75! ;)

      • How do I activate this flybys offer?

        • Email from Flybuys titled "Collect up to 1000 BONUS POINTS at First Choice Liquor". Received it on Wednesday, though it could be a targeted offer only?

  • Just got back from first choice, my local (bicton store, canning highway, WA) had rekordelig's 4 for 20 dollars (save 12) then another 20% off for buying four or more single beers or ciders (so additional 20% off). Spent 10 dollars on other random stuff to make up the 10 dollar difference to hit $50…. in the end got 8 500ml rekordelig's for 22 bucks ($2.75 a bottle). Get on board.

1st choice have 2 Johnny Walker Black Label for $80, used the voucher to make it $35 a bottle, cheapest I ever paid for Black Label would be about $38 so this is a great price!!

Also my voucher did code did not work (she typed the code in manually), they did a manual override of the price in store, not sure if anyone else had this issue.

  • My cashier at Alex hills Qld took a look at the fine print first, then scanned it. I wanted to tell her, make your life easier and just scan first before bothering with the fine print. It the scan does not work, then read it
