Echo make excellent petrol powered tools. They are a Japanese brand and are up there with (and or exceeding) Stihl in certain product categories.
They are used commercially by many lawn maintenance businesses and stocked by professional mower shops.
Compare the warranty of the Echo with the Honda you quote, and you will notice Honda is only 1 year for commercial use.
Masters and Bunnings are not where you source commercial grade mower equipment. I'd buy Honda HRC mower second-hand over anything at Bunnings/Masters, and similarly Echo blower and brush cutter.
How is this better than a Shindaiwa T230XR for $350 ? It has a slightly larger motor, slightly more power, 1kg lighter, also has a 5 year domestic warranty etc. It doesn't seem like a bargain to me. The same shop in Brisbane has the same model Echo for $399 standard list price without any negotiation (I knocked $30 off the trimmer I bought from them a few months ago quite easily, so perhaps around $360-370). I would go with the Shindaiwa though - they are brilliant machines.
I am curious where you can get that Shindaiwa model for $350? I am in the market for a decent whipper sniper.
