  • That's damned good. I just paid $155 for 2x8gb regular DDR3 (non SODIMM) from ebay (in the hope of getting a $100 voucher back tho)
It was I admit a high end, fast model.
EDIT: Looks like it would've been $110 from Amazon US (before shipping)

  • Nice deal, unfortunately slots in my laptop are full.

  • my 8GB from the last deal arrived Friday, fitted in my xps17 yesterday. Very happy….apart from that if I'd waited I could have got this deal.

They also had a deal on 16Gb of Ram for my Mac Mini. Normally $117 USD, picked up for $110 AUD.

  • Will this work on NUC/Brix and other barebone PCs'?

      Would this suit an NUC?

I have this exact one in my NUC

      • Thanks Spackbace, yeah as soon as I comment I checked Amazon and found it will

Now I have to find a decent NUC/Brix deal, not sure if Amazon would be better or local stores like SE…
        Any suggestion?

  • spend another $32 on Amex and get $15 off

    • Yeah get a $32 item for essentially $12

  • Shows up for $68.00 (Im assuming free shipping isn't to Australia or price has dropped)

    • +1

Yeah free shipping doesn't apply to Australia.

      $68.00 + $5.26 Shipping (USD)

Title should make this clear- it's laptop RAM.

My Synology DS415+ takes this ram, last I checked, it wasn't a laptop. My iMac also takes this RAM, while it may be slim, the 27" screen and the damn base that won't quite fold out of the way do prevent it from being a useable laptop. NUCs take this too, but I do see your point even though the three platforms just mentioned fall outside being a laptop.

      • Too bad, 415+ only takes one slot SODIMM slot…

        • +1

          So you only buy 1 x 8GB, still a good 6GB improvement.

        • @snuke: Bought 3 pieces in the end, one 8gb and one 16gb kit!

  • Not bad, just bought 2x 8GB Kingston HyperX ddr3 for my laptop. 155.no ebay voucher…sad

  • Damn i just bought this 32gb (4x8) from b&h - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/980521-REG/crucial_32g…

Can these be used in a desktop, along with a bus-powered 3.5" USB HDDs (which I found cheaper than the 2.5" model BTW)?

No, of course I'm not serious, just reversing the usual responses:)

  • Would anyone be likely to notice the speed difference between 1600 ram and 2133? Bout a $50 difference for same 2 x 8gb kit.

    • Depends on your system architecture, but generally no, a regular user won't notice a speed difference in day-to-day use.

    Back up to US$78 + shipping….

  • Price now USD77.99 + shipping

  • Now USD76.99 + shipping

  • Just received mine yesterday. Funny thing the single 8gb stick is made in USA while the twin kit 16gb are made in China! Anyway hook them up on my MacBook Pro and synology no worries!
