Thermos Sipp Vacuum Insulated Flasks and Canisters from $8 at Officeworks

1090

I've been looking at getting an insulated food jar/canister for work since I'm mostly on the road and always appreciate a good hot meal. I've seen this items priced at $30+ when I checked them last and now they are less than half-price.

Thermos Stainless Steel Flask 470mL @ $8 - http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/thermos-sta…
Thermos Sipp Insulated Travel Mug 473mL @ $15 - http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/thermos-sip…
Thermos Sipp Insulated Food Jar 470mL @ $10 (black) $8 (white etc.) - http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/thermos-sip…
Thermos Sipp Insulated Bottle with Tea Infuser 473mL @ $15 - http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/thermos-sip…

Stocks are running out but found that Joondalup, WA has quite a few more left of the tea infuser one (6 left last night). I had to ask their staff for the item since it's not displayed in the shelves. Great quality for the price.

    How much are they normally?

    • +3

They were about +/- $35 when I checked them last before the clearance

    • +2

Got mine (tea infuser one) for $32.95 back in June.
Time to make a 28 degrees price protection claim!

are they easy to clean. i have yet to find a hot drink thermos that is easy to clean. All of them will have milk residue buildup in hard to reach places you cant disassemble and clean. so retarded

        • Mine has a bit of tea stains inside but nothing too horrible. I usually just rinse it out at the end of the day and have never taken the scrubbing brush to it but can't imagine it'd be too hard to scrub off.

  • Checked this morning in OW QV VIC and there are plenty of them in stock and being discounted as well.

Hijacking nearly-top comment: people can just search the OW site for "thermos" and order by price. There are some other colours and also "Thermos Stack N Lock Food Jar" and non-"Sipp" 470mL travel mug (not mentioned in OP) products on clearance - low stock for most, though.

I'd provide a link but I think they are store-specific so not useful for everybody. It's a simple search though.

Doesn't matter how much they are…..

No click and collect and not delivery available.

    Local store has no stock.

All 3 options on all 4 products greyed out.

Just phoned and was bluntly told none on computer so that's that …..

  • Anyone know why it takes between 14-21 days for click and collect??

    • No store stock, think it may be an overly conservative estimate.
The cleaning fluids I ordered had same estimate but the order arrived quicker.

      • +1

Still havent got my cleaning products ordered …….Still waiting on the click/collect, awaiting goods or refund.

        • I am also waiting on those

        • My bad, only part of the order is ready to collect, the "Sparkle" bulk liquids still unready

          SISFC5008 DD-SHINO FRIDGE CLEANER 500ML

  • Thank you . Just order one and can collect from the store :) Hope this is good :)

They're very good quality IMHO. I bought 2 canisters and the tea infuser flask and I'm happy with the heat retention. The seals looks (and sounds) like they are doing their job well and tested the heat retention by making tea last night and it was still hot to warm when I woke up.

  • Thanks OP

@maybeamacy You're welcome. I'm glad you like it. Just giving back to the ozbargain community.

  • Thermos (purple) out of stock

  • Anyone know if big Differencee between the 473ml sipp thermos mug and the 470ml stainless one.?

    • +1

Sipp has handle and also the lid has one of those click buttons which open out a valve at the bottom of the lid to allow for sipping of fluid. The stainless one has no handle and the entire lid needs to come off to drink.

  • Brisbane CBD only has a few of the food jars and one travel mug left.

  • Anyone else have trouble with PayPal on office works at the moment?

    • +1

After I got through the login with Paypal I got a "item out of stock". But if I search for it again it's available. Now trying again but stuck on the Officeworks login page. Is it OzBargained?

      • Getting same issue

        • Try registering, and going through checkout and paying with paypal. As opposed to just paying without registering. It worked for me that way.

      • Yep, nowoutof stock after that messing around.

        Bugger……

  • Nice find. I've got the Thermos King 470ml travel mug, but these look neater. Same heat / cold rating though. and the Stainless King one is brilliant.

  • anyone know if these are insulated flask mugs?

  • Just grabbed the last infuser thermos in OW Braddon, ACT. They still have some food jars.

  • Lot of flasks available in Rothwell QLD.

These things are awesome, I use mine 2 days a week when I'm out in the field. As long as you pre-heat it (pour boiling water to heat the jar) before you put in hot food it lasts hours. I've come home over 10 hours later and have the food still reasonably warm. Highly recommend and will be buying a few extra at this price.

Thanks OP. I bought the food jar and the tea infuser.

I called up Officeworks at Oxley and Garden City QLD before I went and both said there was none in stock of the tea infuser and food jar available. Went to Garden City and found a tea infuser hiding in the back and same for the food jar at Oxley.

The description of the food jar says it has a built in hook for tea bags or loose leaf tea infusers but my one doesn't have anything inside except product warning/guarantee documents. Wasn't sure if it's supposed to have attachments inside and mine was just pinched being the last one there.

    • I got the travel mug and there is a hook under the lid.

    • +1

mine doesn't have a built in hook either. It also says "1 handed push button operation" but it's a screw top. I think they've gotten the "Thermos Sipp Insulated Food Jar 470mL" & the "Thermos Sipp Insulated Travel Mug 473mL" descriptions mixed up

  • Thanks OP :)

  • It says $15?

  • +1

Thanks OP. I was about to buy a Zojirushi food jar from Amazon (US$29 + shipping). Now I got 2x Thermos food jar and a travel mug for even less.

  • Dang I bought the tea infuser one for $24 at Officeworks last week! I haven't used it yet though, do you think I can bring it in to "return" and buy it again?

  • Use the 473 tea infuser out work everyday. Got it for $19 from OW pricematching target.

Went to Officeworks browns plains they checked store stock with only 3 left in nerang and one in Logan HOlem

  • I am travelling. Is it possible i can still find any stock in sydney when i am back in the second half of the month?

  • Will this thermos able to maintain cold temp liquid under the sun ray?

How was it compared to insulated cycling bottle?

  • None at Rothwell

    • There were lot of Thermos Stainless Steel Flasks in different colours(470mL) with the front counter girls when I went yesterday evening.
There were none on the shelf.
I think I bought the last Thermos Sipp Insulated Travel Mug.(473mL)

  • Thanks OP. A few products are reduced from $35 down to $8/$10. So this is a buy 1 get another 2 or 3 free!

  • My partner picked up a plum thermos and the store staff said it was one of the last ones in SEQ. Take that however you want.

  • Someone went in yesterday and cleared out Nerang store :(

  • I just picked up my click and collect order today (14-30 business days estimated) but it came overnight. I bought 1x 470ml food flask, a normal flask and the handheld cup. They're all good! Should have purchased another set haha.

  • five dock, nsw - i bought a food jar and a travel mug last night..
there were about 4 food jars left, and 1 travel mug… they were in a clearance section, however the original price tag was displayed on the shelf.

while i was lining up to pay, one shop assistant was on phone putting a food jar on hold, and the other assistant was on the phone taking a call about availability of the steel flask.. :P

  • Thermos Stainless Steel Flask 470mL @ $8

Anyone ever use that item for Food Thermos Jar as well?

  • Office works Joondalup only had the tea infusers left today for 15 dollars
