          You're not wrong but as someone who buys a bunch of $1 eBay kit from China, it's pretty damn rare that a cable goes wrong.

    Bunnings sells Wemo now so you can get it a bit cheaper with price match.

    Also checkout the Wemo apps by MikeP here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=MikeP they are significantly better than the stupid Belkin app.

      If you can find Wemo at your Bunnings.
      some stores don't have them.
      Some stores behind the return counter.
      Some stores in the tool shop.
      (Yet the near identical Arlec wifi wall plug is found in electrical)

      I was starting to think Bunnings do not want to sell them.

        They generally avoid overly techie stuff.. Imagine the time they would spend needing to school staff and customers on networks, WiFi, and Android issues. With arlec they have strong ties already due to existing product range so might get decent direct support from the arlec reps.

    As for that perennial question of banning DS, I find enough deals I buy from them to make up for the poor ones - with all those exceptions.
    Banning is such a very authoritarian approach. People can just choose to hide all deals from DS.

    You can also enter "BELOW COST" into the search on the page and it comes up with lots of items included in the promo. There might be a batter way but that sort of works.

    Anyone know if there is a physical switch available for the wemo that doesn't have to be wired in?

    I want to "move" a very annoyingly placed wired light switch and was thinking of replacing the light-bulb with a smart bulb and putting the switch wherever I please…
    But I don't want to have to carry my phone around the house to turn on the light!

      No the current wall switch has to be wired into the place where the old switch was.

      But if you get a smart bulb then i would assume you leave the old switch turned on all the
      time and use the app to turn off the smart bulb
