Free $15 USD Amazon Gift Card through Gyft Via TopCashBack

170

The $9.90 USD Topcashback deal has ended - the Gyft $5 offer ($15 purchase required) for new users seems to still be running though.

There is also still 2% cashback for Gyft and the $10 USD Topcashback sign up bonus.

Firstly, be aware that this deal involves a few steps, so it may not be for everyone.

The US cashback site Topcashback has a current special offer for the site Gyft - which is a site that sells a range of gift cards, including Amazon gift cards.

You get a free $15 USD Amazon gift card in the following way:

* You must be a either a new member of Topcashback or a member who has never claimed cashback before (Topcashback allows more than one member per household). If you sign up to Topcashback through a referral link you also get a $10 USD bonus.

* You must click through the Topcashback link (use a clean browser with no ad blocking) and purchase 1 gift card with face value $15 USD from Gyft. Gyft gives new users a $5 USD card for signing up, so you can apply this against your purchase. Gyft warns you that the Amazon gift card is not able to be used outside the US, but it applied ok to my Amazon account.

* Assuming all tracked ok, Topcashback will then pay $9.90 USD cashback within 21 days.

* You can redeem credit from Topcashback as an Amazon gift card with a 2.5% bonus - so you get paid $10.14 USD. Therefore the card ends up being free + 0.14c USD. Alternately, you can take the Topcashback credit as Paypal without the bonus.

If you do everything correct this should result in a free Amazon $15 USD gift card - which you can combine with the $5 credit from the other deal. If you earn $0.10 more from some other transaction (e.g. eBay US, aliexpress or the fiverr deal I mention below) you will also be able to cash out the $10 referral bonus too.

The full terms are given in the main link for the deal - and may be worth a look if you are unsure about anything.

This deal is valid until Friday, November 6, 2015 at 23:59 (I assume US time = PST - which makes it ~7pm tomorrow) or "until stock runs out".

  • Have you actually received the Gyft card? I've tried buying GCs on that site before and they restrict payment to US accounts (e.g. Paypal, CC, IP Address etc.).

  • Yep just did it then, applied fine.

Used an Australian mastercard as the source.

    • From last year. I think they asked me for identification. Looks like EC got it. I must be suspicious or something!

      • well the code came up straight away, popped over to amazon and entered it in and it worked. Maybe things have changed

      • I didn't. See my reply below Neil

Tried gyft. They only accept Us credit cards. Tried last year and even though the transaction went through, they cancelled it as unauthorised.

It took a month for the refund and 10 emails

hrm well nothing lost by trying I suppose.

      • And with all the traffic from ozbargain it's going to be.more suspicious to them now

        • so did you get the amazon card and it was somehow removed from your account? Ah just read it.. well I claimed mine just fine anyway.

Seems like a bit of a grab for referral credit, and sounds dodgy hearing ECs story…

    • Well would you rather not be aware of the deal? All I can say is that (so far) it has worked for me.

Anyway, happy to take the risk of being without $10 for a few months if it doesn't work.

  • ok will remove my link - it was a bit of typing/research though.

Honestly EC that is very rich coming from you. Wonder whose name turns up first on all the referral wiki's

You frankly are quite negative about deals other than your own.

I think if the deal is beneficial to all it is worth posting. You for instance, may have benefited from someone clicking on the random link…

          @easternculture:

I am attracted to deals where it is a complete freebie. These happen to often be referral deals - what can I say? This would still be a deal without any referral credit (I actually didn't know the $10 ref bonus for both was back on until 30 mins ago when I made a new acct).

as long as a referral link benefits all, why does it matter the ratio of referral: non referral submissions? Everyone's getting something out of it. I understand the heavy contributers want more referral credits for their hard work but setting an algorithm to limit ppl posting goes against the ozb spirit?

      • I agree with EC and also appreciate efforts.

He already removed his referral proactively (before your very first reply). So what's the point of continuing to dig into him?

Been seeing a lot of this "I've posted more deals/contributed more than you" BS on here lately and it's pretty pointless and pathetic. Ozbargain isn't a competitive sport, or is it?

ok will remove my link - it was a bit of typing/research though.

Was it, or was it just a grab from Reddit?
Or their source, Doctor of Credit

      • I didn't say I originally found the deal.

I tried the deal, verified it worked & took the risk of buying from Gyft when it said the credit wouldn't work outside the US.

I did type up the whole post from scratch - prob took about 20 mins or so.

    Used your referral link.

Purchased from Gyft just fine using Paypal.

    Love Amazon freebies!

      Thank you.

Works! thanks for the deal. Doesn't really whether topcashback pays the 9.90USD, it is still a deal by itself for buying a $15 amazon gift card for $10. Just did it twice and paid with 2 different paypal and the gift card code applied to my amazon account already. Used your referral link :)

  • Thanks OP, just in time, brilliant find.

  • Would the ebay gift card work? has anyone tried?

    • +1

probably wouldn't risk it. Remember a while back I found some discounted ebay gift cards from target US that supposedly wouldn't work here.. (posted it here as a deal, but got unpublished for that reason)

Netflix or similar may be ok tho.

  • i failed at payment stage at gyft… requires a five digit zip code to verify my credit card…
tried paypal, but also failed to go through (aus account)

    • I paid with paypal.

EDIT: Just got another one and everything is working fine..

  • Worked fine for me. Thanks OP used your linky.

Was just a wee too late, only got the 2.5% so still needing lots of transactions to hit the $10 mark to cash out.
The gyft deal like you said was good enough anyways, cheers Gringo.

    • Fiverr is another good deal to get your cashback amount up - they have 100% cash back - which is $5.50 US (have personally tried this also).

If you have a gig you can "buy" it works out positive actually as gig recipient keeps $4 & they have an Amazon bonus too.

I was considering posting this as a deal.. but a bit put-off now actually (plus it's a little bit marginal).

  • Just as a final note to this - my $9.90 cashback came through just fine. Shame if people were put off taking advantage of this because it was a really good deal.

    • nice, how long does it take to cash out?

      • I requested it as an amazon voucher with the 2% bonus - they say they will process it in their next "batch". Last time I withdrew it took about a day after this for the voucher to be issued.

      • Gift card redeemed and applied fine to my amazon account. So about 3-4 days in the end.

  • Was able to cash out $20.39 ($10 + $9.90 + 2.5% Amazon bonus) after making a purchase on eBay US. Thanks OP.
